Once again the temperature dipped low
enough last night that we had to shut the Windows
and Roof Vents in order to keep
warm. It seemed to do the trick because we both slept extremely well. I was up
before 8:00 and went through my routine of opening Window Shades and getting things ready for breakfast before turning
on my Computer. That was when I
realized it was time to open the Windows
themselves as the temperature had risen to 64 F (18 C) before 8:30
with a forecasted high of 75 F (24 C) for the day.
With the Credit Union having redone their On-Line Backing Page on the weekend Kathy had been unable to pay
our bills On-Line. After we’d
finished having breakfast the first thing she did was to attempt to access our
accounts. What we have learned is that due to our using our Verizon Jetpack
Internationally it slows down to 3G
speeds after the first 1.2 MB
which we were never told would happen. That meant that every time that Kathy
would just get into our Bank Accounts
the Jetpack would drop the
connection.
Since we needed to go Vote in the Provincial
Election in Windsor
we decided to go to Tecumseh and use our daughter Karen’s WiFi. It was past 11:30 when we got to Tecumseh
so we stopped at Wendy’s and ordered Chicken
Wraps off their Value Menu. By
asking for a Senior’s Soft Drink it
was Free. Even though it was a lite
meal it was filling enough.
When we got to Karen’s house our buddy
Sanford was more then happy to see us. Kathy had no problem with the connection
but did have problems with the changes that the Credit Union made to their Site.
Finally, after making payments to our other accounts the Page went Blank. At that
point we were quick to pack up her Computer
and head for the Credit Union.
When we walked in, there was a line up of
people having problems with their accounts as well. Suddenly there were a bunch
of Financial Advisors coming out and
bringing people to their Cubicles to
help them out. We made it to Marlene the Senior
Teller and explained our delima. Try as much as she could there was no way
of fixing our account. Just then she spotted one of the Computer Technicians that had worked on changing the system over.
Brian took his time explaining to the Three
of us what had happen and how to look up Histories as well as Changing
Our Accounts Names. The important part was that our Account was not Blank
and our money had not gone to Cyber-Heaven.
Leaving there it was only a couple of
blocks to the
School that was being used as our
Polling
Station. After simply showing our ID and our Registration
Cards we were able to Vote. They
are using a new Scanning Machine
that tabulates the Votes as they
occur and will E-Mail the results
minutes after the Polls close.
We made a nature call at McDonalds
but because it was getting Hot and
we’d had a lite lunch we each walked out with one of their Ice Cream Cones that helped to cool us down a bit.
We were Home by 1:30 which meant we
didn’t have to rush brushing our teeth because we had to go to our Dental Appointment in Amherstburg
for 3:00. Once we were on the way we only needed to stop twice for the School Buses bring children home from School.
We arrived early for our appointments but
that worked out fine as they were running ahead of schedule. We had our teeth
cleaned before Sean came in to check for any problems. We both have another
appointment within the month.
It was past 4:30 and feeling Hot when we left but instead of going
to the Golden
Arches we went to Soup and Salads
just down the street. We both enjoyed a Bowl of Soup and shared a Greek
Wrap. These things are so tightly packed that we were both full when we
headed for Home.
Healthy and Tasty in the same sentence.
When we walked in the Trailer, even though the Windows
had been open we had to start the fans to circulate the air. When I checked The Weather
Network it showed a Humidex of 92 F (33.5 C).
Definitely warmer then the original forecast.
More errands tomorrow before we can slow
down for a few days. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

I wish it was 92 here it would be like winter for us. Glad they fixed your banking problem that is always such a worry when you can't pay your bills on time.
ReplyDeleteAt times when you have computer problems it make you wish everything was back like the old days.
ReplyDeleteMy credit union just revamped the entire process also. Luckily mine is working well. No problems so far. I had no idea Verizon would slow you down like that. I don't remember mine doing that when I went to Canada ... weird!
