Last night before going to Bed we actually closed all the Roof Vents and only left the Windows slightly open downstairs. With
the Temperature dropping down to 50 F (10 C) we even kept the Bedcover
on because the summer bedding is not made for the cold.
Even though we didn’t set the Alarm we were still up by 8:00 giving
us time to have a relaxing breakfast before buckling down to readying the Trailer for Mary from Healthy Heals.
She arrived promptly at 10:30 and set about working on Kathy’s feet making
certain she was comfortable. Due to Kathy’s Diabetes this Home Care
Service is covered under our Health
Care Provider and is totally refundable.
Once she left it was close enough to noon
that Kathy heated up the last of the Pepper
Steak for our lunch, that she had made the other day. With it sitting in
the refrigerator the flavours tend to meld together making it taste better than
the day it was made. After cleaning the Dishes,
we had a bit of time to finish our reading on the Computers before leaving after 3:00.
Our destination was the Canadian Blood
Services in Windsor where I was scheduled to
make my “111
Donation”. After Jim replaced the Ground Cable yesterday the Car
seemed to be running better then it has since we got Home back in March. Since our MiFi would not allow me to fill out the
On-Line Survey this morning I had to
do it on the Pad in the center. With
everything being Computerized these
days it surely speeds things up. Even after having an OJ and Cookies we were
leaving by 4:30.
Now we planned to go to the Credit Union to get that mess with our Cards straightened around. When I turned the Key in the Ignition and Nothing. This should not have been
happening but it was. I tried again in disbelief but it was still nothing.
Since we were only Four Blocks away I
called Jim at Windsor
Gas and Diesel. He said he’d be right over and was there in Five Minutes. How many Mechanics still make Service Calls? He immediately removed
the Air Filter Housing reached
inside and pulled on the Positive Lead.
With a turn of the Key the Car started immediately. If we had left
the Car with him longer yesterday he
would have replaced that Cable as
well but hoped the Negative Lead was
the only problem. Now the Car will
be put up on the Hoist to remove the
Battery through the Wheel opening. That’s why he didn’t do
it yesterday.
Driving back to Windsor Gas and Diesel with Jim following we simply left the Car. Have you figured out how we got Home yet? The Truck was ready and
waiting for us. Jim took the time to explain what he replaced and recommended
putting the New Tires we recently
had installed on the Front and the Front Tires back in their spot as Duals. That would prolong the life of all
the Tires as well. We still don’t
have a clue as to how much this is costing but Jim knows we’ll pay up when he
figures it out. Still having to return to the Windsor area for the next Three Days I’m certain we’ll be bringing
the Car back with us on one of those
trips.
It was past 5:30 so we headed for Home
but those Cookies and Lunch were long gone so we stopped at
the
Hi-Ho/Michigan Diner on Walker Road. The Hi-Ho
brand was very famous in the Windsor area back in the 40’s to the early 70’s
but slowly disappeared with the introduction of the Fast Food Chains that precook most of their foods. With the Hi-Ho everything was cooked fresh. There is a move on
to bring back at least Three of the Seven locations back to Windsor.
We enjoyed our meal and were soon on our way Home.
Tonight’s Temperature will dip to 48 F (9 C) for a low. We thought
this was late spring. Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
