Visiting With Our Granddaughter, Getting Laundry Done and Setting Off Smoke Alarms.

Our Location today is at Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

The minute we got out from under the Bedcovers this morning we knew exactly how cool it was downstairs which also showed just how toasty we were in bed. It didn’t take long to get dressed so that we could go upstairs for breakfast and a nice hot cup of Coffee to put some warmth back into our bodies.

Our granddaughter Kylla was home so we had a chance to catch up on what she is doing. Years back she was working as a Temporary Part Time (TPT) worker at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Windsor where they produce the Minivans while she was going to school to become a nurse. Then Chrysler offered her a Fulltime position with a great benefit package. Even though she took the job what she didn’t give up on was becoming a Nurse. What she is presently doing is taking what classes she can On-Line to get herself closer to her goal. Then she’ll plan on taking a leap of faith to follow her dream. She had to run a few errands before the start of her Afternoon Shift so we went about getting things accomplished for ourselves.

We had to close the basement door while I sorted our laundry. Poor Sanford was staring through the window with pleading eyes but if we had let him in he would have had a field day playing in our clothes. Even though we are very appreciative of Karen and Greg’s generosity for letting us stay here we don’t want to over impose. Once the laundry was sorted and packed away it was loaded in the car.

It was already 12:30 when we neared the Laundromat but we were getting hungry so we stopped at Arby’s for their new Greek Wraps and a small Soft Drink. Like the other day it wasn’t overfilling but satisfying.

The advantage of going to the Laundromat for us is that we had all Three Loads going in no time with simple to use machines. Starting just after 1:00 we had everything Washed, Dried and Folded shortly after 2:30.

We even got a Phone Call from J.T. at Leisure Trailer Sales in Lakeshore informing us that our Trailer had been picked up by an Indiana Transporter at noon and was on its way back to the Jayco Repair Facility in Middlebury, Indiana. I reminded him of what dates we had been told and that we had done our part to have it to them on time.

Timing couldn’t have been better as we arrived to pick Tyler up at his Co-op School Training Shop just as he was coming out. We needed to make a slight detour so that he could drop off his Progress Report at a Teacher’s Home before we continued back to Karen’s house. We again had to close the upstairs door to keep Sanford out while we put our clothes away.

Since we have been cutting back on our intake by 5:00 Kathy thought it was time for supper. Because of the outside high temperature was 37 F (3 C) this afternoon she decided to fry some Hamburgers on the Stove but she forgot to turn on the Exhaust Fan. Even though there was no Smoke Kathy had to open the Patio Door to get fresh air in while I fanned the Smoke Alarm. Poor Sanford ran out the door because that sound was hurting his ears. When we later told Karen, she admitted to having the same problem.

Not sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow but we are looking forward to a seasonal warm up later this week. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. Its good that the smoke alarms go off when you are cooking. That is good to remind you it may be time to put new batteries in it.

  4. Good for your granddaughter sounds like a motivated young lady! We need more of those these days! Hope Jayco holds to the schedule that was promised! The hamburgers and smoke alarm sounds way too familiar. Usually when I'm at my son's house and making toast that happens! haha..

  5. We did laundry at my son's house yesterday and it took over 5 hours. One load at a time. I still think laundromats are the best way......but when it comes to laundry.....my opinion doesn't count. :-)
