Our Location today is North Ranch, Congress,
Arizona, U.S.A.
This sleeping in until 8:00
is really starting to be a bad habit. No more yawning my way through most of my
breakfast. This is terrible! It’s almost like were getting used to (Heaven Forbid) MST. Of course when we’re partying and not getting to bed until the
late hour of 10:00 it’s only natural that we had to make it up somewhere.
I didn’t even have the Coffee Mugs out for breakfast yet when Kathy
was making her way down the stairs. We were discussing what we had to do today
even as we ate breakfast. We drank our Coffees
at our usual spots, in our comfortable chairs while we got caught up on our
morning reading at the Computers. As
soon as our Mugs were empty our attitudes
changed from being relaxed to something more pressing.
By 10:00 we were once again
leaving North
Ranch heading towards Wickenburg.
Testing our GPS this morning it
brought us directly to our first destination Jones Ford Dealership without a glitch. Parking much closer to the Parts Department today gave me the
needed strength to stand in the long line of others ordering parts for vehicles
that they were working on. A different Parts
Representative came around to help lessen the lineup and simply asked my
name. It was twenty minutes later that he reappeared after digging through the unopened
deliveries to locate our Side-Marker Lights.
He must have felt bad that I was waiting so long for such small packages that
he discounted the price by 30%. “Thank You very much!” Those parts can
only be purchased at a dealership which has to inflate the prices to cover their
Handling Charge.
Kathy then set the GPS for our next destination and it
waited until we were underway to tell us the distance. It tried to have us
travel Thirty Miles to a destination
I recalled as being only a few miles back into town. As soon as I had the Truck headed in the direction I felt
was right the GPS recalculated the
destination at only Two and a Half Miles
up the road.
It was close to 11:30 so before
going too much farther we pulled into Burger King for
an early lunch. Not over ordering we felt much more comfortable and satisfied
when we left.
Two Miles up the
road we arrived at NAPA Auto Parts. Having brought one of the Marker/Signal Lamps with me into the
store and not finding what we needed on the shelves we asked for help. At one
point we had Three Parts Clerks
looking for the wiring plugs we need. They looked High and Low not even
coming close. One finally pulled out an Old
Lights Catalogue and started comparing Lamps
similar to ours. Comparing Numbers
from the Old Catalogue with Parts Numbers on the Computer I was able to order the proper
Pigtails for the job. They’ll be in on Saturday which means another
trip to town.
Further up the road we were
again at Safeway
where we picked up a few things that hadn’t been on the List the other day. With all the sales
they had going on they didn’t have anymore of the cereal we wanted so we drove
back in town to Family
Dollar. We spent time walking down the aisles getting a few things
we knew we’d be needing soon that hadn’t made it to the list yet.
Heading back in the
direction of Highway
89 we spotted an Ace Hardware and since it was already hot outside we went in
to look around and pass some time. I had needed a pair of Diagonal Cutters and they were the first to have them. We also
managed to scratch off a few more Christmas Gifts for 2018. That’s right we’ve
already celebrated This Year’s Holidays with our family back home
and we are now shopping for next year. What we bought here today can not be
found back in Ontario.
We got Home just before 4:00 and by the
time we finished unpacking the Truck
and putting things away it was time to get things going for supper. Kathy
cooked the Pork and Beans as well as making Raspberry Covered Yogurt for our dessert
while I grilled a couple of Hotdogs.
The Sun was already setting before we
ate supper but Kathy sent me out for another picture anyways. If there are no
clouds as the Sun is setting it just
doesn’t have that WOW factor we saw
so many times last winter.
Once the dishes were all
washed and put away we started getting some of the ingredients for the Ambrosia Fruit Salad for tomorrow’s
celebration ready tonight. Kathy wants to mix it after lunch so it will be fresher
when served.
To all our American
readers and their families Kathy and I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. Thanks for following along, feel free to
leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

A hot bath! I cry, as I sit down in it; and again,
as I lie flat, a hot bath!
How exquisite a vespertine pleasure.
