Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
Sleeping with the windows
open at night listening to the crickets serenading you to sleep, just how can
you not sleep soundly. When I got up shortly after 8:00 the temperature was
comfortable but there was hardly any breeze and the humidity was high. Getting things ready for breakfast has once
again become a challenge due to the fact that most of the Silverware has been packed away along with the containers that hold
our Coffee and Tea.
After eating breakfast,
getting our morning reading on the Computers
completed along with the morning chores it was then time for the packing
once again so we got started. By the time noon hour arrived the last three
boxes we had on hand had been filled, sealed and loaded in the backseat of the
truck. Lunch was Toasted Raisin Bread
keeping it lite.
As soon as we were finished
eating we gathered the books that Kathy had to exchange and headed to the Park Book
Exchange Library. This has really been a good source of reading
material for Kathy. Once she had the same amount of books as what she brought
in to exchange she went and sat in the Air-Conditioned Hall
while I brought her selection out to the car.
I then went and stood in line by the front
door waiting for the doors to open. Even though the notice had said doors open at
1:00 after the line got to ten they opened them early. They were selling
tickets for a Steak Dinner with all
the trimmings and entertainment for only $15.00
each. We attended last year and it was great. It is however only open to Seasonal Park Residents only, not even
their families.
Before leaving the Hall we walked to the other end where the volunteers were running the Ice Cream Social. For $2.00 each you get two scoops of Ice Cream and at the end of the season all profits are donated to local charities. Since this is a long weekend in Canada there were a lot of the Weekend Campers coming in to share this event.
Back Home
we packed a few more things from our closet as well as food from the Fridge and Freezer into our insulated shopping bags to load into the truck. It
was shortly after 1:00 when we were heading out the gate for our daughter Karen’s
in Tecumseh.
She had offered us a bit of space to store what we had to remove from the trailer
including food products.
It wasn’t until we got to County Road 42 that we were reminded that Manning Road was closed off at the E.C. Rowe Expressway so we had a detour. As soon as we turned on Lesperance Road I could see a Freight Train stopped across the road. As we got closer most of the
cars closer to the tracks were turning around to find another way. Before reaching
the tracks we went around a block in the subdivision and went back to County Road 42 where we had to drive all the way to Lauzon Parkway so we could cross those tracks using the Overpass.
After we arrived at our
daughter Karen’s house Kathy went in to see Karen but couldn’t find anyone in
the house to talk to. Greg was sleeping on the couch and she didn’t want to
disturb him. Being as we have our own
key and know the garage door code we unloaded everything including things that
went in the Fridge and Freezer and were back on the road in
less then Ten Minutes. We guess we
will have to visit another day!
We stopped at Taco Bell where
a potty call was answered. It was after 4:00 by this time so we shared a Value Meal which is two Tacos, an order of French Fries and a Soft
Drink. It wasn’t filling but just enough to ease the cravings.
The train tracks in Windsor were still blocked so we drove to Central Avenue where we were able to cross the Tracks and the Expressway by using its overpasses. Our destination was Guardian
Storage where we went to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We had
to move our Wheeled Clothing Racks
so we could reach our Luggage Set along
the rear wall. We also left a few things that came from the trailer. The way we
have things set up we were only there about five minutes.
Back Home we started with the largest
piece of Luggage and started packing
the clothes from the closet. The reason we are emptying the closet is because
there is a problem with the Cap of the trailer so it is being replaced. We’ll
be glad when we will be back in our Home.
It was past 9:00 this evening when we finally called it a day. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
