Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario,
Canada.
Forcing ourselves to get up
to get dressed before going down the hall to the Lobby Breakfast Area has really started to wear thin with us both. We
are so looking forward when we can lay in our own bed to sleep at night and not
having to worry about being dressed before breakfast.
Last night while I was in
the process of writing our Blog we
received a phone call from one of the kids. It was one of those things where “He said She said” so right after
having Breakfast this morning we
headed out the door. We got dragged into this so we were going to try and
resolve it.
We drove all the way out to
Essex to
talk with our daughter-in-law Jen but after we got to her home our
granddaughter Emma who was off work today told us that Jen was would be back
with the kids tomorrow. That partly answered some of the questions so we’ll
talk tomorrow.
Our next stop was the Husky Truck
Stop to see if by chance they
carried the type of Signal/Marker Lights
that I needed. After checking the stock on their shelves myself I got the same
answer from the clerk on duty as yesterday from Bogar’s that they no longer carried the others. We sat down and had
a coffee in the restaurant and talked about what else we needed to do in an
attempt to remember everything. We also called our son Kevin to see if we could
borrow some space in his Refreshment
Fridge in his garage.
Our next stop was the Mail Box directly outside of the Windsor Mail
Processing Center to mail a
letter. Down the road we stopped the Pioneer gas station to fill the car up with
gas at a cheaper rate then what it was at Husky before we drove to Guardian Storage to find we had no Mail waiting for us.
When we needed to empty our
Fridge/Freezer in the trailer our
daughter Karen offered us the use of their Refreshment
Fridge in their garage. We were only supposed to be out of our Home
for seven days, nine tops. With the extra time needed to resolve issues we knew
we had and others we didn’t know we had the total number of days could be as
much as two weeks. Karen is having a gathering at her house on Saturday of
family and friends and she now needs the space in her fridge. We drove out to Tecumseh and
were able to nearly empty her fridge just by taking our bags of Condiments out.
The easiest way to get to Kevin’s
was to take Manning
Road and nearly drive by Wildwood Golf
and RV Park in McGregor.
We decided to stop in and check if everything was okay. Other then the grass
needing a good cutting the birds were busy pulling worms from our grass.
We finally arrived at Kevin’s
and brought our two bags of Condiments
into his Refreshment Fridge. There was
still room to spare in his fridge. Being in the garage for the first time in
ages we saw that Kevin has started a project. It has always been on his Bucket List of wanting to build a Street Rod and he has found himself a 1929 Ford Coupe that he will take his time rebuilding. I was
able to pass along some helpful tips on how to do some of the metal repair.
Since it was past 12:30 and
we were getting hungry Kevin suggested a New place to eat. Soup R Salads is a Father and Daughter business that serves two
different Homemade Soups each day as well as Salads or Wraps made Fresh as you wait. We both ordered a Chicken Gumbo Soup as well as a Chicken Greek Wrap and an Ice Tea. The Soup was so delicious that we couldn’t stop until we were finished.
When Kathy lifted her wrap we suddenly remember Kevin saying “One should feed the both of you”. That
was an easy fix, we both had a half of the same Wrap and brought the other Wrap
back to the Hotel
for supper. We were stuffed with the Soup
and Wrap for our lunch.
Today I remembered to take
the Front
Road to the Expressway back to the Hotel.
It was raining fairly steady but we still arrived in less then twenty minutes
unlike the drive we had last week. On the Computer
Kathy found a message from Jen and it looks like the “He said She said” problem will resolve itself. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Beano saved your marriage.
Glad it all worked out. I often buy two meals, taking the second home for dinner, which for me, turns into four meals, since I can only eat half of one at a time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like another busy day for the two of you. I am guessing by now you are getting very anxious to get back into your home. Hope it happens soon.
