Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario,
Canada.
When we went to bed last
night there were hardly any cars in the parking lot here at the Hotel,
but by the time we were dressed and opening the Window Shades the lot was full. We were up before the alarm again this morning
so we could beat the weekend travelers getting at the Continental Breakfast Area. We
just managed to sit at a table with our Coffees
and Toast when there was suddenly a
line past the registration desk. It only took a few minutes for us to quickly
finish our task so others could do the same.
We spent the rest of the
morning reading E-Mails, Blogs, the News and The Weather Network. The reason we follow the
later is for when we are attending anything outdoors or traveling. Yesterday
the forecast had shown Rain Showers
all day for our area but when we double checked this morning the only thing it
showed was Sunny Skies with warm
temperatures.
It wasn’t until 12:30 when
we left to head over to the East End Wendy’s where we ordered their Chicken Wraps off the Value Meal Menu. They are not overly
filling so we were satisfied but not stuffed when we left.
Our next stop was Walmart where we picked up the ¼ Slab Cake that we ordered the other day along with eighteen Cupcakes.
We then headed over to our
daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. We arrived as scheduled to help get
things set up for this special gathering and were surprised to find Peter and
Denise from Kitchener
were already there having arrived earlier then anticipated. They started
introducing us to their children and their grandchildren who were getting ready
to use Karen’s pool. With the forecasted Humidex
only reaching 93 F (34 C) today they were more then happy
to accept Karen’s offer.
Minutes later Karen’s
brothers Kevin and Ken along with their families began arriving. As soon as
Greg got home from work he started his Charcoal
Grill and started grilling the Hamburgers
and Hotdogs to go with the rest of
the meal. Before long everyone was mingling together like they were
attending a Family Reunion. There were pictures taken with food eaten. The littlest
ones made a point of going back to the pool after supper but were out in no
time when told about the Cake and Cupcakes being served.
By 7:30 most of the little
ones had been washed and put in their
PJs for the two-and-a-half-hour drive back to Kitchener. At that point everyone
helped to get the place cleaned up before any Hugs and Handshakes were
exchanged in a sense of unity. Thanks Karen and Greg for organizing this
special get together and the lovely meal we all shared. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
