Waiting For Phone Calls, Fun Visit and Heading Home.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Even though we didn’t have to go anywhere first thing this morning when we saw the clock showing just before 8:00 we knew that we had to get up. This is something we never had to think of while living in our RV the need to get dressed before breakfast. Now we had to get dressed before going down to the Hotel Lobby for our Free Continental Breakfast. Not being in the rush we were yesterday we were able to relax, make our Toast while we had our Juice and then we filled our Coffee cups before heading back to our room.

Back in our room we took our morning meds before getting down to business. My first order was to recall the people who had left messages while we were out yesterday afternoon. I tried calling Stephanie at Leisure Trailer but she was outside with another customer so I left a message for her to call me back. The next was a call to our Insurance. I would attempt to leave four messages through the course of the day.

Around 10:00 as we were getting caught up on our morning reading on the Computers we received a call from the Front Desk informing us that we needed to let the cleaning staff in to clean our room. The excuse was they needed to clean the Shower because a week of build up was too hard to clean off. We may be temporarily living in a Brick Building but we are still functioning as RVers. We make our own bed, we use our bath towels more then once and we know how to wipe down our own shower. Maybe they think we are emptying the room of its STUFF that we don’t want or need.

Shortly after that Stephanie called us back. One of the things on our list was we felt there was No Insulation in the Cap because when opening the closet in the winter it was cold and opening it in the summer it was hot. When they removed the Nose Cap they found all kinds of Insulation and the tech said if there was anymore he wouldn’t be able to get the Cap back on. Stephanie took pictures and said she would E-mail them to me later.

When we arrived here on Monday when we went to put our food in the small Fridge it was turned off. Not wanting anything frozen to defrost I turned the control all the way up. When Kathy went to make lunch today she found Frozen Meat, Eggs and Fruit. I forgot to turn the Fridge down a bit. Needless to say, everything but the frozen Meat found itself in a garbage bag that would later be put in the bin. We had Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches for lunch today.

The only reason we were staying in our room most of the day was waiting for the Insurance to call us back. At 3:00 I made a final call where I spoke with the Receptionist telling her we had a life and that I will call back tomorrow because we were leaving for the day.

We drove over to the nearby Walmart where we walked around for exercise, found a new pair of walking shoes for Kathy as well as a couple of snacks. Since it was now after 4:00 and this was Wednesday we went to Burger King where we ordered a couple of Whopper Combos for our supper.
Our site looks bare without our RV there.
Our next stop was back at Wildwood Golf and RV Park. Returning to our site really felt weird with it being so empty. I needed to pick up my Toolbox as well as my Electric Drill and Jigsaw. I’ll be doing a furniture repair for our friend Kathie sometime this weekend. After watering our plants and grass Kathy and I went over to say hello to our old neighbour Ted. When we arrived at Ted’s trailer Larry was there visiting him for Happy Hour. The site we are presently on used to be Larry and Nichols old site. We visited for nearly a half hour answering their questions about the repairs that are being done to our Home.

It was past 5:30 when we left the park and headed to visit our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa in Amherstburg. Even though we arrived slightly later than normal we still had a fun filled visit. I even mentioned how heading back to the Hotel this evening was going to be like when we lived in our House and then the Apartment taking the Front Road through LaSalle then taking the Expressway

It was nearly 8:30 when we said our Good Nights and headed for Home. (Did you catch that?) Just as we were entering the town of McGregor that I realized I was headed to our empty site at Wildwood Park. That probably added about fifteen minutes to our trip back to the Hotel
Cheap Insulation on the front but none on the side.
Checking the phone for messages when we got in someone from the Insurance Company called trying to answer a question that I asked over two weeks ago. I’ll definitely be calling them in the morning.
Cheap Insulation on the front but none on the side.
You can see the open spaces between wood panels.
When I checked my E-mail this evening I found the pictures that Stephanie sent. If the new Cap has already been installed I’m going to Scream. The front of the closet is insulated with cheap insulation, but looking at the sides of the closet and cabinet there is No Insulation. I’ll be calling Stephanie again in the morning. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Were you both sleeping when you headed for home? We often almost miss a turn headed somewhere but the other one is on the ball. It is why we tease and say 'see, you do need me!'

  2. We had the same problem with our closet. I use to leave the door open a little to let heat out or in depending on the season. I don't know if you follow this blog but they just had major work done on their 5th wheel and there is a picture of their cap and how the insulation was upgraded. http://rv-dreams.typepad.com/rvdreams_journal/page/2/ July 21 post shows pictures.

  3. That's so irritating!! Seems to me I never got the repair guys to actually fix the entire problem. They always just went half way. Good luck ... I hope they step up and fix it like they should!!
