Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
With the heavy rain falling
last night we just kept the windows closed and the Air Conditioner on. The result was that we both slept until nearly
9:00 this morning. That was probably our body’s way of recovering the sleep we
lost while staying up late talking on Thursday night.
I was in the kitchen
getting things ready for breakfast when the phone rang at 9:05. Mark was
returning phone calls today and was in the office by himself because his
secretary was off for the Long Weekend.
He was swamped yesterday and didn’t get the voice message but did find Rosa’s
note on his desk this morning. We talked business then when that was over we
had time to talk about some personal things. Mark is one of our biggest fans
and hopes that when he Retires he’ll
be able to travel like we are doing.
Kathy had taken a Night-Time Tylenol Sinus Tablet before
going to bed last night so she was feeling much better this morning. She enjoyed
looking out towards the Golf Course watching
the dedicated Golfers out doing
battle with the wind. The flags hardly had a ripple in them but those people
were out there trying their luck.
After our usual breakfast
and reading at the Computers and Morning Chores I planned to start
installing the new LED Light in the Bedroom Cabinet. Seeing what tools
would be needed I was about to start that when Kathy suggested I recall the Other Place that didn’t return my calls
yesterday before noon. Calling the number and going through the Telephone Automated Merry-Go-Round I was
met with a different recording today saying that the person would be back in
the office on Tuesday. I left another message guaranteeing that I’d be calling
back at that time.
Since it was now past noon and
we’d had a lite breakfast we worked together at making sandwiches that helped
to use up even more of our food stocks from the Fridge. The way we are going right now there will hardly be
anything left to take out of there on Monday.
Kathy wanted to line the Pantry and new China Cupboard with the Anti-Slip
Material we had purchased but thought that it had been packed away in one
of the boxes already brought to our daughter’s garage for storage. With a smile
on my face I reached in the one box that had been left behind and pulled it
out. We spent the next hour and a half lining six of the shelves ensuring that
nothing would be sliding around while we travel down the road.
We also assembled three
more boxes and started packing away almost all the containers from the Pantry on the Main Slide. In order to repair the Main Slide at the Dealership it will have to be completely
removed so we have been told we will have to empty everything from the Fridge/Freezer and Cabinets on the Slide itself.
We managed to fill another two and a half boxes before taking a break.
By the time we finished
that it was after 5:00 so while I loaded two of the boxes we’d just filled in
the truck Kathy started making supper. Keeping in mind to use up what we could
from the Fridge/Freezer Kathy first
made Hard Boiled Eggs from which she
made us each a Deviled Egg, to go
with the Salmon Filet that she sautéed
to go with Garlic Noodles she made
for a side.
Since she cooked that all
by herself the least I could do was wash the dishes afterwards. The Weather Guessers are calling for a
cooler weekend so we’ll be shutting the A.C.
and hopefully I’ll be able to get not only the light that I want to install
finished but other things on our To-Do List
as well. Thanks for
following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
