Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
It almost feels like the
later in the evening I get to bed the better I sleep and I also tend to wake up
sooner in the mornings. By doing so worked out well this morning when the stove
refused to boil the water for our Coffee/Tea.
It was minutes after 8:00 and I had to go outside to turn the second Propane Tank on so we could indulge in our
addictions. As typical we would end up drinking them while doing our morning reading
on the Computers.
What was unusual this
morning was the phone ringing at exactly 9:00. When I answered it was Val from
the Wildwood
Park Office. She knew that we had put our names in for a different
site but she was apologizing that there were no empty sites. That’s when I mentioned
I was looking out our window at a very empty site that we wanted. I then told
her the Cyclone Toy Hauler had been
sold and was no longer there. When a RV
is permanently leaving the Park as a
resident you are supposed to notify the office and nobody had. She said she would
get back to us.
I went back outside and
changed out the empty Propane Tank while doing the weekly chore of emptying our
waste tanks. Then I went about watering Ted’s as well as our plants and flowers.
I was just about to go inside when Pat came over and introduced herself. She
was the other person who had put her name in for that site but that was over a
year ago. Since that time she found another site nearby and has developed it to
her liking. Larry and Nichol had told her we were also interested so she came
over to say if it’s available we can have it.
Thinking Kathy would like
to hear that I was barely inside the door when the phone rang again. Val had
located the former owner of the
Toyhauler as well as Pat and confirmed that the site was available if we
wanted it. As soon as we said yes she explained the Park Crew would be out in the morning to clean it up and relevel
the driveway.
Kathy thought having a Pancake with the Strawberries and Blackberries
she had just cleaned would make a great Fathers
Day Lunch. They were delicious and filling.
With the news that we will
soon be moving we went over to do a little cleaning on our own which also
helped wear down lunch. There had been pieces of wood left in the driveway
where the trailers had been parked and thinking our trailer would sit back
further I tried to pick them up. They were attached to another board
underneath. Using my shovel, I removed the first boards then the second then
the Four-By-Fours that were buried in the crushed stone. These things were
already starting to rot so getting them out of there was a good thing otherwise
our RV might have settled in the
night.
With the forecasted threat
of thunderstorms as soon as we hear the sound of distant thunder we started
packing up our tools and gloves. We had just gotten inside the trailer when the
sound of rain pounding on our roof became deafening. We thought we’d make use of
our time and got caught up on the reading we missed this morning. Checking The Weather
Network they showed the local Humidex was only at 97 F (36 C) at that time. In that short a time it took to check the
forecast the rain stopped but there were plenty of threatening clouds outside.
We had plans to go out this
afternoon so we needed to clean up and cool down. I mentioned how I made a spreadsheet
listing everything we want to accomplish before we leave for the Southwest this
fall. Now that we are moving sites that adds to the number of things that have
to be done but once they are done we won’t have to do them again. The number
increased by 40%. Even though we are
only moving to a different site we have a lot more to get done in even less
time
Shortly after 4:00 we were
headed towards our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh. She had invited us for
a simple Barbecue to celebrate Fathers Day. When we got there everyone
was sitting outside under the Gazebo.
Our granddaughter Ashley will be taking a job this fall teaching English in
schools in Spain.
Wow! Grandson Tyler who worked from
7:00 this morning until 1:00 this afternoon at McDonalds was busy inside
working on one of his last Homework Assignments
for the school year. Granddaughter Kylla and her friend Cody were just enjoying
a day off of work. Our son-in-law Greg was busy on his Charcoal Grill cooking the
Burgers while Karen was cooking Corn
on the Cob in the house. Everything tasted wonderful. As everyone was
starting to leave shortly after 7:00 poor Sanford started looking dejected
because there was no longer anyone to play with him.
Hope all the Dads out there
had a chance to enjoy their day with their families. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
