Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
As tired as we were when we
went to bed last night Kathy struggled to fall asleep. The problem was an
overactive imagination that just would not shut down. She was rearranging our
new patio and figuring where we would be planting our new trees for privacy and
moving some of the longer established plants to different locations all in her
mind. It was after 3:00 by the time she finally managed to get to sleep but as
soon as I sat up on the side of the bed at 8:00 she practically ran ahead of me
to the kitchen.
Since we were expecting to
meet up with my sister Anna for lunch we kept our breakfast extremely lite.
There was still plenty of things that could be done before we met that didn’t
require getting dirty. Outside I started by watering first our neighbour Ted’s
plants and flowers before returning to do our own that still have to be planted
and the ones that we had already planted on our old site. When I had removed
the cement anchors that were holding our Garden Shed from the pad yesterday,
two snapped off at the heads. Fearing that someone walking through the empty
site could injure themselves I went back with a pair of locking pliers and was
able to remove all forms of danger. I also parked the truck in the overflow
parking area so that there would be room for Anna to park after lunch.
We made certain we were at
the 19th
Hole Restaurant before 11:30 so
we could get a table. Being that she lives in London and was unfamiliar with
the current Construction Delays in
the Windsor area
she was only five minutes later then she had expected to arrive. My sister also
insisted that since our Wedding Anniversary
is coming at the end of the month that today’s meal was her treat in early celebration
of the occasion. We had a chance to visit before our meals arrived and long
after before we drove back to the trailer so she could see our new location.
We had a chance to show her
the site and explained what the Advantages of it were as well as telling her of
the changes we want to make. She even had the chance to see the Park Crew in action as they brought in
a fresh load of gravel and releveled our old site. We talked of about our
travels to the Southwest and she even said she could see a glow in Kathy’s face
when she talked about it. Since we haven’t seen one another since last year
there was an endless number of things we had to talk about. It was after 4:00 in
the afternoon before we knew it and Anna decided it was time to start her two-hour
drive to get back home to London. We definitely have to visit more often. Thank
You Anna for the wonderful visit and for Lunch.
Our day was far from over. While
I went to retrieve the truck from the overflow parking lot Kathy warmed up the
leftover Spare Ribs and French Fries we had from last nights supper. It was
enough to fill us after a not so strenuous day.
As soon as we finished
eating we went outside to dismantle the old firepit on this site. After loading
the heavy Circular Cement Stones in
the truck then it was time to dig the Metal
Ring out of the ground. Digging was slow because whoever installed the Metal Ring put plenty of gravel all
around. I also loaded and tied the Utility
Cart, Wheel Barrow along with
the Fire-Ring in the back of the
truck before going inside.
We decided to watch the
local 6 o’clock News before going
too far. This gave us a better look at the
Weather, News and the Markets.
It was 7:00 by the time we
were on our way headed for Amherstburg. Our first stop was our son Kevin’s to
return the Utility Cart, Wheel Barrow and Hammer Drill. Thanks again Kevin for loaning us those tools. We also
left the Fire-Ring and Circular Cement Stones so that Kevin
can make his own Fire-Pit.
Our next stop was Dollarama where we only found a few things that we went
looking for. Stopping at Canadian Tire we
looked around their Garden Center
and didn’t find any trees or plants that would suit our décor. Driving over to Walmart we
could see some five-foot Emerald Cedar Trees
outside of their garden center. We found the best one and headed inside where
we also found a Burning Bush that we’ll
add to our collection.
We arrived back Home around
9:00 and had to unload the truck as well as watering all our plants before
calling it a night. Thanks for
following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
