Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,

By the time we finally got
to bed last night we were both beyond tired. Because I’d barely slept on
Tuesday falling asleep was easy but not for Kathy. She was suffering with Sinus Congestion so she was laying
there awake during the two hours I slept. We spoke for a minute when I woke
unexpectedly. Within minutes she finally fell asleep but guess who didn’t. Just
like the night before my mind started doing everything but shutting down. When
I did fall to sleep it would only be for a short while before my brain started
thinking of something else.
We’ve mentioned this many
times in the past and we actually have Herbal
Teas such as Sleepy Time Tea
that we occasionally drink in the evenings to help us get our sleep back in
rhythm. We don’t use it as a constant relaxer as to avoid our bodies rejecting
it’s affects. Another reason for not using it is that when we are already in
bed and we fail to go to the kitchen in the middle of the night to make a cup
of tea.
Even with our lack of sleep
we were both up before 8:00 this morning so we were able to have our breakfast
and complete our morning reading by 10:00. The rest of the morning chores
followed quickly but then there was more to do.
I would spend the next hour and a half making phone calls trying to
reschedule a minor surgery, find out what is happening with our Sigma Camera
Lens repair and wishing my aunt Anna a Happy
Birthday. (Not in that order) She was feeling better then the last time I called
and we are looking forward to visiting with her and Bob soon.
We used the few minutes
before noon to cook Perogies with Grated Cheese and Bacon Bits along with a slice of Spice Walnut Loaf with Icing
and Cinnamon on it. They were just
enough without stuffing ourselves.
After lunch Kathy returned
to researching Plan B and C for our trip to the Southwest
this coming fall. She has us back in Moab, Utah where we hope to see a lot of the
different rock formations.
I moved our truck across
the street to one of our weekend neighbour's site so I could set up the ladder near
the nose of the trailer. Unlike yesterday when we were experiencing high Wind Gusts today we were only feeling a
slight breeze. My task for today was to convert our outside Security Lights to LEDs. It didn’t take much to remove the Lens and Incandescent Bulb
before using Rubbing Alcohol to
clean the inside of the lamp. Even mounting the three LED Waffles was easy but when I attempted to connect the Wire Harness that I created the other
day there wasn’t enough room. I had to shorten them both since both lamps are
identical. Within ten minutes both Wire
Harnesses were modified and I was connecting the first Lamp together. When you can see them in the bright sunlight they
have to be bright. At three times the brightness, 1725 Lumens each combined they will use less then a quarter of one
of the original Incandescent Bulbs
would have. It took more time to level
the ladder then to convert the second Security
Light.
Around 5:30 we headed for Amherstburg with
our first stop at Canadian Tire to
pick up a replacement bulb for the truck that I forgot to do last night. Not being
able to read the fine print on the bulb took longer to get the right one as
there was only about thirty bulbs that looked the same.
We then headed over to Kevin and
Melissa’s home for our weekly
visit. We sat out on the back screened in deck where we enjoyed the fresh air but
weren’t bothered by the Mosquitos. We
talked about a number of things that most people never think to talk about and
the way the conversation went we were all laughing at the same time.
By the time we got back to Wildwood Golf
and RV Park we were wondering how
our New LED Security Lights would
look after dark. As soon as we turned the corner we knew because I’d forgotten
the front light on before we went out. Driving up our street was like having a Spotlight shining in our eyes. Now
those are Security Lights.
As we compose this Blog we
are both struggling to stay awake but that’s how we felt last night. We won’t
take any chances tonight, we’ll each take a Tylenol to help us sleep. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Krackers
Joke of the Day
Ask a silly question:
Why do croutons come in airtight packages?
Aren't they just stale bread to begin with?
Great job on the security light. I switched to LED bulbs on many of my lights, they sure are bright!
