Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
We were both awake before
8:00 this morning and went through our regular morning routines until we were
finished. Then it was time to accomplish what could be done outside. I went
about watering not only our flowers but our neighbour Ted’s flowers and plants.
It was while I was watering his Tomato Plants that I noticed water dripping
from the Hot Water Tank compartment
on his neighbour’s trailer. With nobody being home at the time I made a mental
not to point it out to them the next time I’d see them.
After a brief talk with
another neighbour Jim about work that he was doing to his Park Model it was time for me to go back inside where Kathy had
already made us a very early lunch. She knew that we had a number of places to
go to this afternoon so she thought that it would be wise to get an early
start.
We were on our way towards Windsor
by 11:10 and our first stop was at Lowes. When we had our cabinet door modified
back in November the person used Spring
Loaded Struts that don’t hold the door in a raised position. We had looked
unsuccessfully at other stores for Gas
Struts that would do the job so I didn’t hold much hope of finding them
today. After looking on our own we finally asked an associate who immediately
knew what we were looking for and put them right in our hands. Being able to
finely locate these on our first stop scratched two more possible stops off our
list for the day.
The next stop was Henry’s
Camera Shop on Howard Avenue to pick up our Sigma 18-200 mm Lens. Luckily it was Steve who originally sold us
the lens and he helped to get it repaired because he knew it was still under
warranty that served us today. It felt good just holding it in my hands again.
We stopped at Windsor Gas and
Diesel where I set up an
appointment to have an Oil Change done
on the truck as well as having him inspect the brakes. We trust Jim totally and
know that he won’t do any work that is not necessary.
We then drove over to Guardian
Storage where after collecting
our Mail we drove back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to drop
some things and look for a few other things. Since the outside Humidex was already feeling like 99 F (37 C) when Kathy stepped inside she nearly didn’t want to leave.
Our next stop was at Green Shield where Kathy dropped off her Claim Form for her treatment yesterday from Mary of Healthy Heals.
We made a stop at Staples
where we picked up some large sized Sharpies
and Stencils that will be used to
label our Fresh Water and Waste Barrels.
A stop was made at Motor City
Credit Union to do some banking
and to set up an appointment for next week to sign some additional papers.
Driving back to Walker Road we stopped at the Pioneer Gas Station to fill the
car.
All this completed and it
wasn’t even 2:00 in the afternoon. Our Early
Lunch was long gone and the heat was starting to get to us. We stopped at McDonalds
where we each had an Ice Cream Cone
which not only helped to nourish us but also helped to cool us down.
We then headed over to the Zehrs Supper
Store to pick up some things we
didn’t get at Walmart
yesterday because not all of their prices are the lowest in town. We picked up
two cases of water today that were a dollar cheaper then that at Walmart.
We also did some walking around just for exercise in a cool environment.
Back at Home we
had everything put away by 4:30 and since we were hot and it was Friday we
drove out to the Michigan Diner in Essex.
We had barely gotten seated when there was suddenly a steady line of people
coming in for their meals. We were able to order off the Senior’s Menu which meant we got a reasonable sized serving of Fish and Chips at a much more lower
price. When we left we felt Satisfied
but not Stuffed.
We had just finished
watching the 6 o’clock News when our
neighbour with the leaky Hot Water
Heater came home. When I showed them the problem they commented that the
water wasn’t hardly coming out warm the last few days. The outside temperatures have been so warm
that we haven’t turn our Hot Water
Heater on in over a week. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Hi Kathy and Rick, I noticed above you had picked up your camera lens. We are trying to decide on a camera, doing a lot of research, have it narrowed down to a couple we are considering. I was just wondering what kind you have that goes with that lens?
