Making Plans, Getting Exercised, Another Repair Completed and A Fun Afternoon Social.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Sleeping once again with night-time lows in the mid forties last night we were so comfortable that we both slept late this morning. It was damp enough when I got up that I immediately turned the Electric Fireplace on to dry the air a bit yet when Kathy got up fifteen minutes later she thought that it was still off.

We managed to have our breakfast and morning reading finished early enough that Kathy returned to her Computer to do more research for our upcoming travels to the Southwest this fall. Kathy just can’t relax when traveling without a plan. She also believes that we may never go the same direction twice and if there is something worth seeing then we are going to see it the first time out.

Due to the many injuries that I sustained while working (Repetitive and Accidental) the only way that the pain can be relieved is through exercising and even though I have been getting there more often lately it is not the daily routine that used to keep me pain free.

By 10:30 I was on my way to the Park Workout Room where they have a small collection of Free-Weights, a Small Universal Machine, a Treadmill and an assortment of Exercycles. The exercises that I need to concentrate on help my Shoulders and Neck the most. With no clock hanging in the room I didn’t think I was there that long but when I later walked into the trailer Kathy was in the process of making our lunch.

Lunch was the last of the Homemade Turkey Noodle Soup. With the flavours blending overnight it tasted even better then yesterday and it was more then filling enough to see us through to supper.

Kathy cleaned up the dishes while I went outside to do another repair. On our return trip from the Southwest this spring either in Indiana or Ohio we had damage done to our trailer and we didn’t know about it until the next day. Somehow a low-flying bird struck and destroyed our Bathroom Skylight and one of our Cyclone Vent Caps. The next day we spent the night at Leisure Trailer where I managed to pull feathers from the Skylight remains and cover it with a plastic bag. Lucky for us I did that because the next morning it rained cats and dogs but nothing came in the trailer. I replaced the Skylight Lens on Easter Sunday but didn’t get around to replacing the Cyclone Vent until this afternoon. If any moisture did get inside the vent it only ended up in the waste tank without any damage to our Home.

At 4:00 we walked over to the Clubhouse for a Hamburger Sale. There was only one last year but we were busy and missed it. The profits of these functions helps to support other functions that help make improvements to the Clubhouse. We didn’t realize that the food wouldn’t start being served until 5:00 and it was bring your own drinks. A couple of the resident musicians provided the entertainment and proved to be very talented.

Just after I returned with our refreshments we were joined at our table by Moe and Diane from LaSalle, Ontario who just started Fulltiming this year. We spent the next half hour exchanging travel stories and even though they go to Florida after they heard about our trip to Arizona might reconsider their travel plans. We lucked out at being in the first wave of people to get our ½ lb Hamburgers and Cole Slaw. Were they ever good and well justified the cost.

We were still talking away when we were joined by Paul and Nancy, also Fulltimers from London, Ontario. While they were eating their meals they heard us talking about Quartzsite. After Moe and Diane left they started asking questions about our travels. They have been going to Florida for their winters but are really getting scared by all the violence that is taking place down there.

Just as Paul and Nancy were about to leave our neighbours Ted and Eileen came in to enjoy a tasty hamburger and to support a worthy cause. We had a good time talking about some of the things that have happened in the park over the years such as last year. RVers are supposed to be the friendliest people that you could ever meet anywhere. Last Summer we had a neighbour parked directly next to us that went out of his way to alienate everyone on our street. Nobody was heartbroken when they heard that he wasn’t returning.

There was a Fifty/Fifty Draw and an announcement was made that with the help of Volunteers this will probably become a Monthly Event. Sounds good to us, good food and talking with like minded people made for an enjoyable supper.
End to a beautiful day.
The 6o’clock News had already started by the time we got back Home and other then a passing shower overnight we should be getting some Summertime Temperatures for a few days before Spring-like Weather makes a return. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. We had someone in our Park last winter that complained about everything and even called the police to stop a jam session. They management finally told him he couldn't come back. Fortunately there are only a few like that.
