Errands, Family Visit and Welcome Back Party.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After being cold while sleeping the night before last we decided that we’d leave our Heavy Bedcover on for a few more days until the night time temperatures rise. This way if it was too warm we could simply push it aside and pull it back up once we were cold. Having Raynaud’s Disease I would never push the cover off but I was cold throughout the night. Kathy most times sleeps on top of the covers and if she does get cold she gathers the Bedsheets and hugs them all. You got it even the covers I use to keep warm become a large wad of sheets in the middle of the bed while I lay there shivering until I would finally wake up enough to remake the bed in the dark. When questioned about it in the morning Kathy’s response is normally “Not Me!” I thought he moved out with the kids, LOL

We took the time to do our morning reading but were out the door shortly after 10:30. We headed to Guardian Storage in Windsor to get our Mail. Wendy was happy we were getting warm Sunshine today instead of cold Rain like we were getting the last time we spoke.

Our next stop was Dollarama where Kathy wanted to pick up cheap but decent looking Silverware and Dishes that we can use for Park Functions or Pot Lucks that require us to bring our own services without taking our good daily use Dishes. We lucked out with the Silverware but she felt there wasn’t enough selection for the Dishes at that store.

Driving over to the Dollar Tree they did have a larger variety of Dishes so we took our time sorting through them avoiding those that had too many flaws. Now we’ll be able to have our Dinner Carrier ready for meals and can be out the door with less then a few minutes notice.

As mentioned many times in the past we enjoy giving gifts that we know our children and grandchildren can use. We however beg them not to do the same for us especially now that we are Fulltimers we would have no place to put some of those things. What we suggest to them if they want to get us anything is to buy us Gift Cards. They take little space, we can use them when we need to or the urge hits us and they don’t spoil. Today we used one of those Gift Cards and had lunch at Dairy Queen (DQ). We each had a grilled Chicken Wrap Combo which included fries, a drink and a small sundae for dessert and we still have some left over for a treat at a later date.

When we were finished eating lunch we stopped in at our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh since it has been a few weeks since we have seen her. Today we lucked out because not only was she home but so were Tyler and Kylla. Kylla was getting ready for her afternoon shift at Chrysler Assembly Plant while Tyler was going outside to mow the law before going to bed so he could work the midnight shift at his part-time job with McDonalds. We had a short but pleasant visit but before we left Karen asked me to dig out a dead shrub in the back yard. With all my experience doing that it took all of two minutes to do.

On our way up Manning Road we stopped at the Pioneer gas station where we got gas for the car at $1.029 a liter ($3.895 a US gallon) It hasn’t been that low in a while but we still topped off the tank before heading Home.

After unloading the car Kathy set up our Dinnerware Tote with our new Silverware and Dishes while I jumped in the shower. Then she did the same while I was shaving. We soon had our cooler packed with refreshments before heading out the door.

Every year Wildwood Golf and RV Park puts on a Welcome Back Diner for its Seasonal RVers. We paid $12.50 a plate but the meal is catered by the 19th Hole Restaurant, the Park pays for the Entertainment and Door Prizes. We had a surprise when we arrived at our table this year as there was already Silverware and Dishes set up. Keeping only our cooler and glasses for our drinks the rest went back to the car.

Everyone other then Kathy and I at our table now have Park Model Trailers in the Park and Snowbird to their other Park Model Trailers in Florida. They are all avid golfers but when we told them how we had spent the winter they kept asking all kinds of questions and wanting to know more about our future travels.
The food was perfectly prepared and if anyone was hungry it was their own fault. Once the Door Prizes and Fifty-Fifty were drawn the three member band started playing a mix of Country and Contemporary music shortly after 7:30. With our not sleeping properly the last couple of nights and the wine we had with our supper even though we danced a number of songs we said our good nights and headed Home shortly after 9:00.
Tonight's entertainment Rio Micheals Trio
Having been busier then we had planned I didn’t finish wiring the Max-Air Exhaust Fan today so I’ll finish that tomorrow and we’ve been invited out for a small barbecue for supper.

Kathy and I would like to wish all our Female readers and their extended families a Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. You need to make a compatible blanket, cut a light and heavy weight blanket in half and sew together so one person has a sheet or flannel sheet and the other half is a heavy blanket.
