Watching Nature, Possible Stroke, New Companion and Visiting With Good Friends.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

As soon as I posted the Blog last night I put on my light jacket to head outside to disconnect and drain our Water Hose and Filter Canisters. All that only took about three minutes to accomplish but by the time I got back inside I needed to stand in front of our Fireplace to warm up. We shut the Electric Fireplace off before going to bed and turned on the furnace in an effort to avoid having frozen water lines in the basement. With the cooler night-time temperature and having to run the furnace we both found we kept waking on and off most of the night which caused us to sleep later this morning. As soon as we were up the furnace got turned off.

Looking out the windows as we ate our breakfast we were treated to our neighbourhood Rabbit snacking on everyone’s lawns in one direction while watching Mother and Father Doves changing shifts at keeping the eggs in their nest warm in the other.

Later as we sat reading at our Computers my aunt Anna called to talk because she had been downstairs when I called yesterday to wish Bob a Happy Birthday. She was just hospitalized two weeks ago. After running all kinds of tests the doctors could not pin point what really happened but the symptoms were the same as that of a Stroke. It has left her drained and needing lots of rest.
Some of Sandy's Begonias

After that call I had to make a few myself. The first was to our Pharmacy where I found out Kathy’s prescriptions were ready to be picked. The next call was to Leisure Trailer to get a progress report on the parts for our slide. Stephanie was outside with a customer but J.T. passed the message along.

Wanting something different for lunch Kathy had me chopping some of the Pork Roast we grilled on the Weber yesterday to add to some Pork Flavoured Beans. It was served open faced on a slice or Toasted Rye Bread and was more than enough to satisfy our hunger.

It was after 1:00 when we headed to Pharma Care in Amherstburg to get our Prescriptions. When we got there everything was ready except an Antihistamine that needs to be approved by Kathy’s doctor.

We headed up to the Shoppers Drug Mart where the local Post Office is set up. We needed to buy some stamps so that we could mail our 8840 Forms to the Internal Revenue Service in the US.

From there we drove over to our friends Gerry and Sandy Bronstein who we haven’t seen since last October before we headed south. We were surprised to find they had a new addition to their family in the form of Star a nine-month-old puppy whom they got for company. Once we were seated and Star had a chance to check us out everything was good. She was very well behaved and only barked when Kathy suddenly Sneezed. We had only stopped in for a coffee and a chat but as usual when we get together there is just have too much to talk about. The coffee was great but it was get close to supper time so Kathy suggested we head to the Michigan Diner in Essex
Our Friends Gerry and Sandy.
After making certain that Star was secure in their Home Gerry and Sandy followed us as we drove towards Essex. We were less then two miles from our destination when we got stopped by that same Road Construction that Kathy and I ran into the other day. Just like on Wednesday there were no signs to indicate any delays so this time we were stuck in long line up. Unlike the other day within five minutes a lead car brought a line of traffic out our direction before leading us back in the opposite direction.
Kathy checking on our Neighbourhood Rabbit.
Arriving at the Michigan Diner our conversation only stopped long enough to place our orders and to eat our food. Even as we ate we were still keeping the conversation going. Our meals were all tasty and filling but the best part of the meal was the Friendship we all shared. We’ll get together again more often this summer.
Trying to eat as many Dandelions as possible.

We had two messages waiting when we got Home. One was from Green Shield about the CPAP Mask Liners and the other from Leisure Trailer. I’ll have to call them both in the morning.
Egrets by the pond.
We have another Freeze Warning issued for our area for tonight so the water will remain disconnected until the morning. Thank goodness for a Fresh Water Tank. After this we are supposed to see a gradual increase in our temperatures. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Whoa! At reading the title, I thought maybe it was you having a stroke. Glad it's not and your aunt recovering well from whatever hit her.
