We’re Okay, Our Slide Is Out and More Coworkers As Neighbours.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Sorry for the alarm in yesterday’s post about the possible Stroke. Both Kathy and I are quite healthy at this time. It was my aunt Anna whose symptoms matched those of a Stroke but yet the doctors in Emergency at the Hospital could not confirm what the problem was. She is still not 100% but she is at home resting.

Having to run our Furnace for two nights in a row due to below freezing temperatures was not the most comfortable thing to sleep with. It was more the fact that we didn’t want our Fresh Water Tank and Water Lines to Freeze causing us any more problems.
We are all smiles today.
I was up by 7:30 this morning and had finished nearly half my morning reading by the time Kathy woke. The outside temperature had been rising steady and had reached a balmy 43 F (6 C) by the time we sat down for breakfast. We were headed back to the computers by 8:30 and decided to just shut the heat off before sitting to complete our morning reading.

When we came Home last night after having dinner out with our friends Gerry and Sandy in Essex there had been two phone messages waiting that I planned on returning this morning. Right after 9:00 I called both those parties only to end up leaving messages on both of their extensions. As Kathy and I spoke of our plans for the day I received first a call back from Laura at Green Shield explaining that the CPAP Mask Liners were not covered due to the Company Package (Ford) not wanting to pay for them. At least if my Family Doctor writes a prescription for them and it is denied, then they can be used as a Tax Deduction for our personal Income Tax.

I was in the process of making the bed when Stephanie from Leisure Trailer called back. The parts for the Slide Repair finally came in but the soonest we could have it repaired was the beginning of June. She had also explained to her Boss that this was our Home and not being able to use our slide because their Tech had said not to use it was stealing space from us and making life difficult. The Boss gave us permission to open the slide and said they would send someone out to bring it in if needed. This is a Warranty Issue and we shouldn’t have to suffer. Since some of the parts for other Warranty Issues are not yet in since our slide is out we’ll wait until they are all here and get all the work done at once.
Finally given permission to extend our slide.
The trailer feels huge now.
As soon as we’d finished our chores Kathy pushed on the extend button while I pushed on the top of the slide until it was totally out. We no longer felt closed in. We now had to finish making it feel like our Home. The one Rocker/Recliner was still in the same spot it was when we were in Illinois

Since I was planning on doing the laundry Kathy immediately made sandwich for lunch but she was still trying to reach the silverware from the far side of our Kitchen Island. Even when she went to wash her hands, she was doing it from the outside of the Island. It may sound comical but after living like that for over three weeks it had become a habit. Just by regaining the extra Fifty Square Feet of living space it felt like we were now living in a Mansion.

Normally when I do the laundry without having to wait for any machines the entire process only takes just about two and a half hours which includes folding the clothes. Today was not a normal day when not one but two Former Coworkers showed up at separate times to check out the Park Laundry Room. They just pulled their RVs into the Park today and were already wanting to talk about the Old Days.

Kathy had been working at straightening files on her Computer. By the time the laundry was put away it was time to start thinking about making supper. With our slide now extended we were able to reach our Pizza Stone and Pizza Pan. The Weber Q made short work of cooking our Store-Bought Pizza and it came out perfect.

We discussed at supper how many people could not survive living Fulltime in an RV. We also realized how difficult these last three weeks have been with part of our Pantry and most of our Cookware being inaccessible for us to use. When the trailer finally goes in for this repair we are hoping that will be the end of this Nightmare.

The temperature will be cold tonight but at least it won’t be freezing. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
