Happy Anniversary and Visiting Danny Cut Short.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Wow, that was a good night’s sleep for both of us. We kept breakfast lite and were just about finished our Coffees, when Kathy said she wanted to go out. There was no visible Wind and the pavement was drying up from yesterday’s Rain, so it sounded like a good idea.

With no Rain in today’s forecast, we again donned our Denim Jackets. By the time we reached the Car, we had to take them off. It was above 61 F (16 C).

Thinking that we would just be going back to Alexander Park to walk around, I was shocked when Kathy said, “She wanted to go visit her brother Danny because it has been a long time since she saw him”. ????

Rather than getting in an argument, that I would be the bad guy, I agreed, but first we had to follow a Construction Detour. It ended up taking us past the house that I once owned with my Late Wife. Like the one Kathy and I owned, nobody takes care of them the way we did.

Continuing towards LaSalle, there were more Construction Detours along the Front Road making it impossible to access from the far lane. Thinking that would be a great time to change the Plans again, I said, We’ll visit Kevin and Melissa in Amherstburg before trying on the way back. Surprisingly she agreed.

We drove around Amherstburg checking all the changes made since we came off the road. Now Kathy was suddenly hungry, and I did not want Fast Food, so we went to Mealtime Express, a small mom and pop Restaurant that we ate at many times before, during and after our Fulltiming Adventures.

Kathy chose to have a Homemade Hamburger and Ginger Ale, while I had a Toasted Western Sandwich with Coffee. It tasted wonderful and brought back so many memories.

From there we headed over to Kevin and Melissa’s house. They were packing to leave for a couple of days as a way of celebrating their 30th Wedding Anniversary. (Burgundy is the colour.) We kept our time shorter than our normal visits, but Kathy repeated herself often. After Hugs and Handshakes, we were headed back towards LaSalle.

We had to turn onto International Drive, before Zig-Zagging through newer developments. When we reached Laurier Drive, we drove past the house Kathy raised her family and we shared for the first Two Years of our marriage, it was uplifting and disappointing at the same time. Others never hold the same standard of care that we did.

Kathy reminded me that she wanted to see Danny, and within minutes we were parked in front of his house. Unfortunately, he had visitors and said we would visit again soon, just not today. We were barely a mile down the road when Kathy said that was not her Brother. It seems that she is stuck in the past and will not except that he has gotten older.

We had both taken classes early in our careers at Saint Claire College years ago, so we drove around the Campus. There has been so many changes and additions, that we barely recognized the main building.

We continued taking our time to get home. As we were getting out of the Car in the parking, lot when a woman walked by, wearing a Raincoat similar to the ones that we purchased yesterday. Kathy denied the purchase, so I simply waited until we were in our Apartment to show her the Raincoats. She asked, “Why did we buy those”? I bit my tongue.

When I got a negative answer if she was hungry, we just focused on our Computers. Closer to 6:30, I was asked, “What’s for supper”? We shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza.

For Years, whenever I asked Kathy if she wanted to watch a “Star Wars” movie, she said she did not like them. With nothing else to watch tonight, I asked the same question and she agreed. When it was over she claimed to have really liked it. Who is this person?

We can only hope to sleep tonight, as well as we did last night.
