Arguable X-Rays.

Last night while I was still writing the Blog, Kathy had come out to see where her brother Danny was. Surprisingly, when I told her, “You are just having a Dream and should go back to Bed”, she did. It was not until I later went from my Recliner to Bed that I found she had not put her CPAP Mask back on. I tried talking her into putting it on, I even tried to put it on her myself, but she would have none of it. She even went to the Bathroom only to return to Bed without the Mask. She would later complain of how tired she felt all day.

At least she did not wake up the way I did Gasping for air when the Electric Power went off, for nearly a Minute. Her Mask, if she had been wearing it. fits in the Nostrils only, while mine covers both my Mouth and Nose.

I reminded Kathy that we would be going to get her X-Rays done today and she was fine with the idea. Instead of making something fresh for lunch, we shared the half Bacon/Chicken Sandwich that she brought home from yesterday’s Girls Day Out around 11:30. It was filling enough to hold us over.

The closest Clear Imaging to our location was on Walker Road, so we arrived around 12:15. The place was packed so it was no surprise that it was past 1:45 before they called Kathy in. Another Half Hour passed before Kathy came out. As soon as we were outside she told me that I would never make any appointments for her again or she would start making them for me. I tried explaining that the Doctor from the Walk-In Clinic wanted the X-Rays not me. In the Car she said she was hungry and kept screaming about the appointment.

We stopped at Arby’s where she used the Washroom, while I ordered our food. Wanda, immediately noticed I was upset, but knows about Kathy’s Dementia after having talks with her herslf. She just said “Hang in there”.

Kathy continued to rant about my making the appointment the entire time we ate our meal. Finally, she explained why she was so upset. The Doctor had said he was going to get Neck X-Rays, but instead this crew had her strip down to a Johnie Shirt and took X-Rays from Head to Toe. That was why she was mad at me. I reassured her the Doctor had said only for her Neck and I had not added to his checklist.

We were there for nearly an Hour, where I explained that I would not do anything to harm her in any way, but I felt very hurt by her accusations. We came to the conclusion that we needed to talk with someone, not our kids, that have or are going through things like we are. She agreed to allow me to set that up. Now I can finally contact the Group Counseling through the Alzheimer Society.

We were home on time for the “6 o’clock Local News”. Since this will be the first Canadian Long Weekend, there was a lot to be announced, along with warmer temperatures heading our way.

We later watched “Law and Order, Special Victims”, before Kathy headed off to Bed. Hopefully she will wear her CPAP Mask from now on.
