Again I stayed up reading Blogs that had just posted past midnight last night and surprisingly slept soundly without any help. What was even more surprising was that I didn’t sleep in but was out of bed by 7:30 this morning. Looking outside it was still inviting even as more Clouds started filling the sky.
Everything was ready for breakfast and I also managed to get some of my morning reading on the Computer done before Kathy got up minutes after 8:00. She had struggled to fall asleep so it took a little longer for her get rolling. We filled the morning with our usual routine but started checking to see what else we needed to do this afternoon.
We had Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch along with an Orange, Pecan Tart and Apple Sauce Cup for dessert before we headed out the door. We needed to accomplish a number of things so our List was basically telling us where we were going and for what so we wouldn’t forget anything. Remembering where the Construction Zones were had me taking a different route.
Our first stop was at Guardian Storage where I picked up our Mail then settled this month’s fee. We then headed back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit where we checked the contents of a few Boxes and Bins before we loaded those articles as well as some Clothes that had been hanging on a rack into the Car. We want to downsize the contents so we can at least downsize the Storage Unit if we don’t get rid of it entirely. We drove past where the Trailer had been stored to be certain someone else had not tried to lay claim to it.
From there we swung over to Princess Auto so I could pick up Wafer Batteries and Sweat Bands for my Automatic Welding Shield. While I did that Kathy checked out the Surplus Section where we have often gotten bargains. It was February the last time we were in there and there has been changes made to protect their employees along with big signs on the door indicating that “Masks Are Mandatory” inside.
From there we drove to Motor City Community Credit Union. I needed to get Coins for our Laundry and cash our Refund Cheque from Green Shield. Today I was wearing a T-shirt from Marathon Key Florida that had a picture of a large Spider on the front. When we toured that area we saw those Five Inch Spiders actually existed. The picture itself was scaring the Teller but when I told her the Spiders were as big as the picture she started freaking out. Strangely she said Snakes don’t bother her so I told her about the Boa-Constrictors in the Everglades. She started freaking out again.
Needing a few things Kathy suggested going to Walmart rather then the grocery or drug store. Everyone inside was wearing Masks including preschool aged children. Things had been moved around so it took nearly a Half Hour before we left.
We carried everything upstairs when we got back to the Apartment. For supper Kathy made Lou’s Kitchen Pulled Pork Sandwiches along with a Cinnamon Roll, an Apple Sauce Cup and an Orange for dessert. (I forgot the Camera in the car so no picture of supper.)

The 6 o’clock Local News talked about a number of things but most were about how the economy had been affected by the Coronavirus. The also talked about the delaying of the International Border openings. They reported that due to the way the Virus is being handled in the US the closure to Non-Essential Travel could be post-phoned indefinitely.

We worked on the Computers until 9:00 when we again watched the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Due to the Coronavirus and Social Distancing lots of it was being done from other locations and by videos. What has been unique is that there have been as many Republican supporters as there have been Democrats encouraging people to vote for Joe Biden. They all had the same message that the present administration is not full-filling the position they were elected to do. (That’s not my words but my observations.) Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Don't you just hate it when they move things around for no reason? Then you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find them.

I have been meaning to ask you did your rig arrive well at the place they are going to fix it?

Today's Democratic National Convention went well but I am looking forward to tomorrow's (just realized what time it is...so it is today's) where President Obama and Kamala Harris will be speaking.

  2. Sounds like another busy day for you two. I'm hoping the borders will open so our Canadian friends can head to the southwest or wherever they want..nothing wrong with wishful thinking right?

  3. Yes, did your RV arrive safely? We still want to head to Mexico - mostly to pick up our generator but we would have to commit to be away at least threes months because of driving the mountain passes in the winter. If the border remains closed then our decision will be made for us. We are talking more and more everyday about what we would do if we stayed here for the winter.

  4. As for Walmart (and other places), my guess is that they think you'll buy more stuff if you're wandering around looking for what you want. Argh.
As a USA resident, I enjoyed a current Canadian meme that said, "living in Canada is like living in an apartment over a meth lab." Probably hits the nail on the head.
