Rainy Start To Our Day, Special Visit and Nighttime Detour.

Minutes past 7:30 I was out of bed this morning and had barely started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me. That didn’t bother me but it did Kathy since she never fell into a deep sleep until after 3:00 this morning. We each had an English Muffin before heading to the Computers.
Camera makes it look brighter then it was.
Looking outside was not very promising as it had Rained most of the night, was still Raining at the time and continued Raining until sometime after lunch. After getting our morning chores and reading done Kathy needed a Snap to make up for her night. I headed off to have a morning shower that always invigorates me.
Due to the lack of activity we settled for Macaroni and Cheese for lunch then simply topping it off with a Chocolate Pudding Cup.
We spent the rest of the afternoon working at the Computers.
We decided to have something quick and easy to make that would not be too filling for supper. Our choice was a Store Bought Thin Crust Hawaiian Pizza. It only requires turning on the Oven at 425 F, setting the Timer for Fifteen Minutes, unwrapping the Pizza, placing on a Pizza Pan, stick it in the Oven and activate the Timer. Back at the Computer the Timer lets you know it’s time to shut the Oven, put the Timer away, remove it from the Oven, then cut and serve the Pizza. Add a glass of Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) and supper was served.
We were out the door shortly after 5:00 and we made a quick stop before taking the Expressway across town before heading out to Amherstburg. We were headed to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house for a Special Visit. Since the arrival of the Coronavirus we’ve only had Three Short Visits outside compared to the weekly visits we used to have. Today’s special visit was to help Kevin to celebrate his Fiftieth Birthday.
We thought we would only be sharing a piece of Cake with Ice Cream but Melissa being the perfect hostess made certain there was all kinds of Finger Foods and Snacks to keep us nibbling. What made it worse was my “See Food Addiction” (LOL) made it so we shouldn’t have eaten supper.
Melissa is still working from home and when they have to shop they avoid crowds as well as wearing their Masks. We had our usual enjoyable visit even though there were a few serious discussions. We even had the chance to visit with our grandsons Cameron and Matthew. We normally limit our visit to Two Hours so as not to over stay our welcome but before we realized the time our visit had lasted nearly Three Hours.
On our way to Amherstburg we had seen Flashing Signs on the Expressway about nighttime Construction with Lane Closures and Delays. Thinking to avoid that I headed toward Walker Road which was our main route when we were staying at Wildwood Golf and RV Park. Imagine our surprise when we came across a “Road Closed” sign due to Bridge Repair.
Our Forty-Five Minute trip home took an Hour and a Quarter by the time we took all the poorly marked Detours. Another thing is that out in the County there are very few Street Lights.

It was 10:45 when we walked into the Apartment and we were both starting to feel tired. We didn’t watch any of the Republican Presidential Nomination or the 11 o’clock Local News tonight. Kathy washed up and went to straight bed while I work to publish our Blog. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
