Building A Haunted House and Enjoying The Party.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

We chose to sleep in a bit knowing that tonight we might be up late. I was up by 8:00 this morning and when I started opening the Window Shades had a bit of difficulty seeing outside because of the Rain Splattered Windows. I also got an early start to my On-Line reading so I was well ahead of the game when Kathy got up at 8:30.
This isn't the party we went to.
The Rain was off and on all day along with the gusting Wind but the Clouds and Low Forties Temperatures also hung in there. While I set the bed up as if we were crawling back in Kathy busied herself transforming the Leftovers from the last couple of days into a very tasty Stew. It all tasted wonderful but she did such a good job of cleaning things up we’ll have to start fresh tomorrow.
Witches all over the place.
As mentioned in last Friday’s Blog we had found something that would be the perfect thing to bring to Party. Since tonight we’ll be attending our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s yearly Halloween Party we had to get busy.
We started to have a rodent problem
Then they called the Exterminator.
The Kit was for a Chocolate Cookie Haunted House quite similar to Gingerbread Houses around Christmas. Kathy opened the Cellophane Packages the Cookie House was wrapped in so that I could finish cutting the pieces for the Roof. There were no instructions of how to build it but bit by bit using the Icing Sugar that was supplied we started the assembly. If we ever do another one we know a few things we’ll do different to make it easier like using proper Icing Bags and Tips.
Mother Nature arrived and was brighter then the Weather.
Someone needed milk for their coffee.
Young and Old enjoying themselves.
Figuring that we might have a few snacks this evening we had a very lite supper of Macaroni and Cheese to tied us over. After cleaning up the kitchen we spent a few minutes doing some reading before getting ready to leave at 5:30. We were heading for Amherstburg but it was raining so if we were wearing our Raincoats to keep dry how was the Haunted House going to stay dry? With It’s Own Raincoat that’s how. With Kathy already buckled into the Car I carried the Haunted House covered under a Clear Plastic Bag and handed it off to her. Kathy’s arms got quite a workout supporting it until we got to Kevin and Melissa’s. It arrived nice and dry.
Howard Stern brought his own.
Woopie Cushion
Things started steaming up.
It was just Dr. Feelgood arriving.
More then Two Ninja Turtles
We always like to arrive early so if they need help we’ll pitch in. This also gave us time to talk since we missed our Weekly Visit on Wednesday.
This Butterfly was looking for Nectar at the sweets table.
The strangest people get together.
Dr. Feelgood and a Kermuffin.
Slowly others started coming in and bringing food to share. Even though we had eaten lightly for supper we sampled way too many delights. Melissa was really watching out for me, not only had she made the Chicken Chili with a bite but she sent Cameron to give me the bottle of Hot Sauce so I could really kick it up a notch. Even with the constant drizzle outside everyone was having fun inside. After other couples started heading for home at 10:00 we bade everyone a good night leaving the Party for the younger generations.
Howard Stern and Mother Nature.
Jason showed up.
Everyone enjoying themselves.
See, everyone is smiling.
We made our way back to the Park by 10:30. Tomorrow we’ll see what we can do to get even closer to our departure. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
