Settling In, Already Patronizing the Vendors and Going to Silly Al’s.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

It felt so wonderful sleeping with the Windows and Roof Vents open last night only hearing the occasional howl from a distant Coyote. Kathy however wasn’t so impressed when the early morning Twilight started to shine on her face from the Roof Vent. What’s a person that needs more sleep to do other then to pull the sheets over their head to accomplish that feat.

Finally getting out of bed before 8:00 we changed our breakfast around by having Toast instead of Cereal so that we could finish the last of the Rhubarb.

We both tried getting On-Line on our Computers this morning and that simply proved to be a waste of time. We also had an issue with the Main Inverter turning on to charge everything that needed charging. The end result was that we both played a puzzle until we’d finished our Coffees

Wanting to get things better organized Kathy did some fine tuning inside while I checked why the Main Inverter wasn’t working down in the Basement. The Main Inverter was working perfectly. What the problem was that I’d forgotten to turn on the Breaker Switch that was installed to prevent Back-Feed when we are plugged in at a post. It’s hard remembering things we did naturally just over Six Months ago. I then removed the Empty Propane Tank from the Trailer and put it with the other Empty Tank already in the back of the Truck. We now had Two Thirty-Pound Tanks that needed filling. I managed to clean a few more things from the back of the Truck before going inside to let Kathy know we had to go to town.

While I went upstairs to changed my clothes Kathy set about making a wonderful Spinach Salad with Tuna, Cottage Cheese and Clementine Oranges. It was tasty, filling and healthy. Not often you see that all in one dish.

When we finished our meal, we gathered our Drinking Water Jugs and headed for town. We headed for Family Dollar first where Kathy had a chance to browse around while I was outside filling our Drinking Water Jugs at the Reverse Osmosis Machines
Saw this guy here last year.
Our next stop was at the RV Pit Stop where we arrived as two other trucks were leaving. We had both our Empty Propane Tanks filled in less then Five Minutes
But didn't notice the Electric Car plugged in.
Yesterday when we came into Quartzsite off I-10 we didn’t take the time to see what Vendors were open. When I mentioned the need for some Electrical Supplies to Wayne he recommended the Vendor across from the Post Office so that was our next stop. Lots of their prices were much lower then I remembered from last year so I got some supplies that I’m constantly using. Since they only sold their wire by the foot and I didn’t get any because I’m not sure how much will actually be needed for the jobs I'm planning. Buying wire by the roll makes it cheaper per foot, less wasteful then splicing a bunch of short ends together and if there is any leftover it will eventually be used on something else. This vendor takes “Cash Only”.

We drove across Main Street West to buy some Firewood. We went to the same location and even though it was someone else selling the Firewood we still managed to get a better price then he was advertising.

We drove around to Tyson Wells Road thinking I could get my wire there. Kathy stayed in the Truck to keep an eye on our exposed cargo.

The first place I went was K & B. Notice I didn’t put the word Tools behind the initials. That’s because Ken decided he wasn’t carrying Tools anymore. He didn’t have any Wire. What became of the Tools is across the lane under the name of Burt’s Tools and he didn’t have any wire either.

Not finding the Wire I needed I remembered to go look if the Processed Food Tent had my V-8 Juice. Their prices were also lower then last year so I grabbed two cases before they decide to raise their prices.
Nearly 5:00 as we were going for supper.
Back Home in La Posa South LTVA we brought the Drinking Water Jugs and other purchases in before getting comfortable outside. Sitting in the Sun was a bit too hot even though there was a good breeze so Kathy was enjoying her book Black Friday from Nick Russel while sitting in the Shade behind the Trailer. I changed the Propane Tanks, unloaded the Firewood and set up our Generator just in case, but when that was finished I even sat down for a while and solved a few Cryptograms.

Around 4:30 Kathy suggested we have Pizza for supper and we didn’t have any in the freezer. We did the only thing anyone who wants good pizza would do while in Quartzsite we headed over to Silly Al’s Pizza. It was packed as usual but we found a table that was just being cleaned off as we walked in. We did something we have never done here before, we each ordered a Salad then we shared a Small Silly Al’s Special Pizza. We were more then satisfied and we didn’t feel weighed down.

We managed to find our Home in the dark with the help of the Awning Lights. Not quite sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow but it’s all in the name of our being Comfortable. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. It's always different switching from shore power to boon docking. My whole way of doing things changes. A month later, it's hard to remember what the routine is when plugged back in!! BTW ... best pizza in the West!!
