Picking Up Our Purchases and Still Trying To Get Things Fixed.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

With no plans to travel today and not having done anything much different in our routines than yesterday I was surprised to be wide awake after only a couple hours of sleep this morning. After staring at the ceiling, tossing and turning for a couple more hours I finally got up in hopes of tiring myself out. After taking a Tylenol I was still up over Two-Hours reading on the Computer but had to shut down due to a Low Battery. It would be another Two-Hours before I would finally fall back to sleep.

It was nearly 9:00 when I got out of bed, not feeling too well rested. Minutes later Kathy joined me and had slept like a rock leaving her well rested. After finishing eating our breakfast I turned on the Main Inverter which helped bring new life back to the batteries in our Electronics. We needed to take turns going On-Line because of the lack of our Weboost to connect to the Cell Tower

Around 10:30 I went outside and changed out another Empty Propane Tank. The thought of less trips to the Propane Fill Stations sounds so inviting I can’t wait to get our new Blue Flame Heater up and running. Minutes later we were slowly making our way to the Trash Bins to get rid of what was necessary. There has been very little rain in the area for some time so even driving slowly in the desert leaves a Dust Trail in your wake.

Our first stop was at Gamblers RV Supply to pick up the extra Over The Burner Toaster that we ordered this week. As soon as we walked in and I saw the Large Boxes piled in the Aisles there was a doubt in my mind. When they said they hadn’t found the Toasters yet we just said that we’d be back.

Walking out the door we saw another Vendor at the other end of the building. One thing most of these Vendors have in common is the variety of goods that they are trying to sell. By the time we left this location I had a couple of tools that I’ve looked for back in Ontario and Kathy had also scratched off a couple more Christmas Gifts off her list.

Our next stop was north of I-10 at Discount Solar on Main Street where I needed to pick up the Terminal Lug that I was shopping around for yesterday. Not surprising they are expensive here because all these companies know they are selling to Captive Shoppers. I did take the time to Thank Stan for giving me the idea last March how to improve our Security Lamps at a fraction of the cost then replacing the entire unit and our’s are Three Times Brighter then the Ready-Made ones.

We headed back to RV Pit Stop to top up our Empty Propane Tank. When I presented their Punch Card to the clerk our Propane Fill Number 10 that gave us an instant $5.00 off the cost of today’s fill.

It was already past noon and Kathy didn’t feel like a big meal so we went over to Carl’s Jr for lunch. Walking in the door we noticed that they have $5.00 Meal Boxes. They have been around for a while but we never noticed them before. Kathy was satisfied with her order but I was actually quite full.

Crossing back to the southside of the I-10 we were soon back at RV Lifestyles. With our receipt in hand we had our new LED Reading Lights in less then a minute and were back on the road.

Staying on Tyson Wells Road we passed through the growing number of Vendors and crossed Arizona 95 back to Gamblers RV Supply. The manager had just left for a late lunch and the clerk that was there hadn’t found the toasters yet. She remarked that there was a Blue Container below a large box that hadn’t been opened. The box was really lite so after I stood it aside what should appear in the Blue Container but all the toasters they couldn’t find and we weren’t the only ones to have ordered them.

Up to this point our travels had been in a loop. It was now past 2:00 and our lunch had settled so we thought we’d get a treat. Last winter we discovered Dorothy and Toto’s Ice Cream Shop across from Silly Al’s Pizza. This month their new flavour to try was Huckleberry and it was well worth the trip. They also have a Punch Card to use so it looks like we’ll make a few more stops there before going home in the spring.

By the time we got back Home in La Posa South LTVA we were both so tired that Kathy suggested sitting back and taking a Snap. Her’s was more of a Nap but as tired as I was I could only sit reclined and wish to fall asleep.

When she woke I tried contacting TracFone to get the new SIM Card for Kathy’s phone sent to us like their Tech had said they could. Apparently, that’s not the way it works. When you buy a TracFone, Straight-Talk or the Other Pay as you go Cell Service you have to specify which Carrier you want to use, AT&T or Verizon. When we purchased these two phones together we didn’t know that so the Associate at Walmart set one up on each Carrier and the only way we can change Kathy’s TracFone to Verizon as the Carrier is to buy another Phone then all her Minutes and Number can be transferred over. TracFone no longer carries that model so I’ll be searching on Amazon.

We tried out our new Magic Bullet to make up the last of our Orange/Cranberry Relish. We had plenty of power when using our Main Inverter but the machine didn’t quite work the way it’s advertise, so it took repeated attempts to complete the task. At least the Cranberries won’t spoil and we can use them with a lot of our meat dishes. We’ll do more reading on the Magic Bullet to see how we can improve its performance.

For supper we shared a Salad and a Sandwich that helped to clean up some Leftovers in the Fridge. With early Showers we are hoping to get a decent night’s sleep tonight so hopefully we might also get things accomplished tomorrow. Words of Inspiration

It is the grandparents who tell fairy tales to the children. When they get old, their skin is cold and wrinkled, and it is a great joy for them to hold their grandchild, so warm and tender.

  1. Stan the Man! All those guys at Discount Solar are awesome. They were really good to us! We never saw a Carl Jr's in Q, thought we'd been everywhere.
