Nearly Impossible Internet Connection, Luck At The Casino, Great Movie and Still Dealing With U.P.S.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

Even though we both had the same number of blankets covering us last night Kathy was sound asleep comfortable as could be while I spent most of the night Shivering because I was that cold. When I got out of bed before 7:00 MST I felt warmer wearing my Housecoat then I had all night.
Up before the Sun.
I spent nearly an hour doing Cryptograms before Kathy joined me downstairs. That’s when I cycled the Furnace to take the chill out of the air. When we headed over to the Computers to finish our Coffee/Tea we had High Hopes that we would have easy access to the Internet this morning but again it was a waste. Even though we have the Unlimited Data Plan on our MiFi without the use of our Weboost to strengthen our signal to the Cell Tower we are still struggling. We were have extreme difficulty getting on Google, couldn’t access our E-mail, Facebook or Messenger but can occasionally get The Weather Network
Less then an Hour later.
Since most of our problem is Electrical we were out the door by 10:00 heading towards Parker to pick up the Wire and 12 Volt Outlets that were ordered. Walking into NAPA Auto Parts with my receipts I was back to the Truck within Two Minutes
Taco Bell in Parker.
Since most of this week has been spent running around trying to get things so we can fix this problem so Kathy suggested we take a little breather this afternoon. Having had a lite breakfast is okay when you’re not busy but it was just after 11:00 and we were hungry. Wanting something filling but lite we stopped at Taco Bell and each had a Quesadilla with a Soft Drink which was more then satisfying. We learned years back that to make their menu Healthier the US based Taco Bells does not sell French Fries. It was nearly noon when we were ready to leave and the place was filling up.

At this time of year there are all kinds of Roadside Vendors setting up Gazebos to sell their wares to Snowbirds and all they need to do is get a Vendors Permit to make it legal. Having passed a Vendor that looked interesting we circled back the Two Blocks to check it out. After careful inspection and some haggling Kathy scratched another Christmas Gift off Next Year’s Shopping List.

The breather Kathy had suggested was that we could take in a movie and the Theater is right next door to the Blue Water Casino in Parker. We looked at the outside Placards to figure out what we would see but they didn’t start for another hour. Kathy suggested we just walk around the Casino to check it out. After Ten Minutes she suggested we play the Slots. It’s been over nine years since the last time we played and even though I wasn’t in the mood I agreed. We are not Gamblers so we allowed ourselves each Five Dollars to Blow. If you are going to Gamble consider that amount of money gone and don’t try to win it back if you lose it. Kathy’s Five Dollars was gone before she knew it. I was a little luckier managing to get both our money back and to pay for the show we were about to see.

The movie we saw today was titled Wonder with Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson as the parents of a young boy who has to go through life with a Facial Disfigurement. We all know how cruel kids are to one-another, then think of how you would overcome this sort of Prejudice. We both gave it Two Thumbs Up. It was just after 3:00 when the movie ended and everyone stuck around to read the credits.

We waited until we got back to Quartzsite before having supper and since the Mainstreet Diner was not open we went to the Quartzsite Yacht Club where we enjoyed Fish and Onion Rings
Inside the Yacht Club.
When we got Home in La Posa South I managed to get to my E-mail and found one saying UPS was unable to deliver the Parcel that they admittedly lost last week so the Amazon Supervisor I’d spoken to had canceled it at that time. I keep quite calm dealing with messes like this but after the first Representative and their Supervisor accidentally disconnected me I was finally able to connect to someone that actually read my file. UPS lost my parcel but they were demanding that I go pick it up in Phoenix. Not Happening!

The bad thing about being on hold with Amazon is they play a Ten Second Continuous Loop of Guitar Music at a High Volume that was hurting my ears. One day that will cause a customer to go off on one of the Customer Service Reps. When my Survey came in I complimented the second Representative but complained about the music.

I am so hoping to start getting things accomplished around here tomorrow. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I know how you feel about UPS. I had one 3 day delivery that took 6 days to arrive. The package left one city to another city then went back to the original city a couple of times.
At least you won on the slots.

  2. I too have issues with being cold even using my duvet. I have found a fleece blanket or two can usually solve that problem. I keep them folded over at the bottom of the bed where they are always easily accessible. I didn't buy them to use on the bed but as a throw for the back of the sofa so they are single size which cover one person. Perhaps that might help.

  3. Theres nothing more frustrating than no internet service. I'm surprised it's so bad. I have a WeBoost antenna, but haven't a clue how to install it. I remember going to town and sitting in my car to write the blog. Hope you get a better connection soon!!

  4. It's not only UPS, it's Fed Ex. We get scheduled deliveries of 3 Blue Apron meals each Friday. It includes everything needed.... meats, fresh veggies, herbs, etc. Blue Apron notified us on Friday it would be late. Not too worried because it is wrapped in a insulation blanket and dry ice. Ok...... that would be good until Saturday. It came late on Tuesday... needless to say it was tossed. Blue Apron refunded the money but it was Fed Ed to blame. Box clearly says must be under refrigeration. GRRRRR....
