Exploring Our New Area.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida.

Kathy and I finally relaxed enough to have a good sleep last night. When I saw the clock at 6:00 I thought of getting a few more minutes nap time. I didn’t see the clock again until after 8:00. We did get to see the Weather Report that suggested we should bring the kayak with us due to the amount of rain we would be getting while out doing our errands.
Moore Haven City Hall.
By the 9:30 I had sorted the laundry and I was loading the truck. The temperature was already at 77 F (25 C). We chose to go to town for the laundry because we had other errands we needed to run as well. Since this is also a new area to us we used our GPS but when I did its last update the week before we started our trip it failed to mention recent changes to the road due to construction. Yes once again Scout wanted us to drive through fields where there were no roads and when I followed the new pavement she was the one off-roading. You’ve got to love those GPSs!
Our first stop was in Moore Haven entering the town on a nearly completed bridge and if we had driven anywhere near the speed limit we would have missed the Laundromat completely. There was no shortage of machines available and it didn’t take long to do everything we had to clean but it was almost 2:00 by the time we ate lunch.
Since there are not too many specialty businesses in Moore Haven we headed towards Clewiston. Kathy had researched all the necessary stops we needed and where there would be a Laundromat. I was looking for Stainless wing nuts for the new batteries I’m installing. There is no room to get a wrench in to tighten the connections without causing sparks. Would you believe we hit two hardware stores, one auto parts store and two marine supply stores before I could get those four stainless steel wingnuts.

We had spotted a Walmart on the way into Clewiston so we were heading back in that direction when we spotted a laundromat but left pretty quickly when the inside and outside of the building smelled like a sewer. Think we’ll keep looking or doing our laundry in Moore Haven.
At the Walmart Kathy bought food to restock our fridge and pantry. I made a suggestion that we buy a ready to cook pizza and I grill it on the Weber Q when we got back to the trailer. It cooked well but the pizza pan I’d purchased for this kind of occasion got left back home causing a little overcooking to take place even though I cooked it Low and Slow. Darn that means we’ll have to buy a few more for me to practice on since they say Practice makes perfect.

Tomorrow we have some things we want to finish up around the trailer so we’ll be ready for a busy weekend. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
