Happy Valentine’s Day.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida.

The forecast for cooler overnight temperatures was a little incorrect because last night it got down in the 30’s which is pretty cold when you’re not expecting it. It was a good thing I had turned on the cube heater or we would have frozen for certain. This morning when I got up at 6:30 the outside temperature read 37 F (3 C) and there was all kinds of condensation on our windows. So I relocated the heater to the back room and started my morning reading before Kathy finally got up.
Even after breakfast we returned to the computers because just opening the trailer door you knew the thermometer was not lying. After some time I started prepping the laundry in an attempt to keep the wash loads smaller and speed up the process. By the time I had that ready Kathy had already made an early lunch of Lemon Chicken soup with cheese and Apple slices for our dessert.
I figured there wasn’t that big a load and just walked over to the laundry room. By the time I’d made the short trek I was wishing I had used our laundry cart. I also didn’t have enough change and when I tried to use the change machine was surprised to find it didn’t take bills larger than $5.00. After double checking with Kathy that she didn’t have any I hopped on my bicycle and rode to the front office where they had $5.00 bills.

The washing went well but I had to dry everything a second time and because it was still very damp most of it came out wrinkled. That’s the advantage of the large commercial driers in the Laundromats.
While I was away Kathy had started researching places she might like to stay at for next year. We had originally thought of heading in the direction of Texas next year but with the cold and snow everyone has experienced this year she thinks we’ll delay that trip. Since it was nearing 3:00 when I returned and the temperature reached 61 F (16 C) Kathy made us a Chocolate Sundae as our private celebration for Valentine’s Day.
At 6:00 we were at the Clubhouse to attend a catered Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance. Elaine had called back in December because she knew we'd be here. She asked if we wanted to attend and we said yes because there was a limited number of tickets. The meal was catered by The Log Cabin out of LaBelle Florida and the food was great.

The entertainment was provided by Steve Burden a one man show. For three hours he only stopped for ten minutes singing songs that we and our kids grew up to. Everyone was on the dance floor at one time or another throughout the night. He did a Fantastic job and would be highly recommended for all kinds of occasions and you'll find him on Facebook under Steve Burden Entertainment.

We heard from our daughter this afternoon just after returning from the Neurologist who told her she'd be off work a minimum of 6 weeks. That the blow to the head she received was severe and she had to rest to let it heal. When I answered the phone I didn't recognize her voice that's how much this has affected her.
Picking up the beat. Kathy joining Rick and Elaine in some faster moves.
Anyone for Y.M.C.A.
The night time temperatures are supposed to be cool for the next few nights but not as bad as last night. Basically we should be back to the norm with no chance of rain for the next week. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Too bad about the cold weather but much of the country seems to be experiencing unusual weather. Here in southern Alabama it stopped raining, the sun came out and temps almost hit 60.

  3. Glad to see you are still "sweethearts". You're fortunate you were in Florida this past week. The ice and snow in Georgia was crazy!
