Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida.
Due to technical problems pictures will be posted at a later date.
We actually slept in until 7:30 this morning knowing that we
were in no hurry to be anywhere or do anything in particular. We enjoyed
breakfast watching the Weather Channel telling us of the high humidity that
would settle into the area later in the day for the next few days. We had our air
conditioner on for the first time this year because of the humidity.
Once breakfast was over and we went to the office where we
reserved our site for next January here at the Glades. Since there is still
more to do getting the trailer ready for our western winter travels we’ll be
heading back to Florida again next year. That will allow us time to explore
areas that we have not yet had a chance to check out.
Back at the trailer we sat at the computers trying to get
online unsuccessfully until I shut our MiFi down and rebooted it. Once the MiFi
was running Kathy tried to use the new printer on her computer but One-Note
kept interfering. Since Kathy doesn’t use One-Note I simply deleted it giving
her easy access to printing any document that she wants.
After doing our morning reading we thought we would sit
outside for a while just to enjoy the cooler
breeze that was blowing through our site. Since the bicycles were out and Kathy
was out of books to read we rode over to the book exchange where Kathy had no
trouble finding fresh reading material that she’d never read. In just the half
hour it took to take that ride the humidity had more than doubled which was
making it nearly impossible for Kathy to breathe. While she sat catching her
breath outside I was busy turning on the Air Conditioner and closing up the
trailer so she’d be comfortable inside.
I remeasured the dimensions for the bread box and drawer
that I’m making for the trailer because I wasn’t happy with the results because
the old wood I was using splintered. I also took the time to empty our waste
tanks before going back inside. When I returned to the computer there Kathy was
once again researching other parks to stay at next winter.
For supper Kathy lightly sautéed some asparagus and made a
nice coleslaw to go with the salmon filets that I grilled on the Weber.
This evening we attended a Sock Hop at the Clubhouse and
again it was volunteers who put together the decorations in order to create the
atmosphere that many of us grew up in. There were very few people that did not
get up to dance and there were quite a number of people who dressed the way
they would have back 50 years ago. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Saturday's Post
Technology can be such a wonderful thing and yet have so many frustrations you'd like to walk away from it to a simpler way of life. Even though there is plenty of data available on our data plan Last Night there was just no way we could connect to the internet so at present we are posting from the Golden Arches of McDonald's in LaBelle Florida.
Today we followed our friends Elaine and Rick who along with their neighbor Debby and her sister Karen were on our way to the yearly LaBelle Swamp Cabbage Festival. at 10:00 the parade started down main street and progressed for blocks until it reached the park where all the vendors were set up. Most vendors were food related which is not the norm.
With the high temperatures we made a quick trip through the packed grounds before walking back towards where the truck was parked. We didn't quite make it back because we encountered a complete street where two blocks had become a display for Antique, Classic and Street Rods in all there shining glory. That was truly a walk down memory lane.
After posting this blog we are once again on the hunt for a Verizon outlet that can figure out why we are having this round of problems before we return to the Glades RV Resort.

Might Be a Redneck If
You’ve ever made love in a paddleboat.
Too bad you are having so many Verizon issues. And the humidity is why we prefer the south west dry desert climate.
