Healthy Heals, Sudden Cool Down and Family Visit.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

I stayed in bed until 8:00 this morning but finally had to turn the Lights on to be able to get things ready for breakfast. There was no Sunlight shining through the steady Rain that was coming down. Kathy was still feeling tired from her restless night’s sleep the other day but she feel better in another day or two.
Raining hard outside.
Once I’d checked The Weather Network for our area it was a little surprising to see that Calgary Alberta had gotten snow overnight. It’s a good thing this is still Summer. I read an article a short while back that reminded us that the earth was suffering from “Global Warming” at the beginning of the year due to the Pollution. When the Pandemic forced the Shutdown the Cruise Ships were anchored, very few Planes were flying and Cars were being used very little. It was noted from space that the hole in our O-zone had reduced in size. Just think how we could save the environment simply by not travelling so much.

In Canada we have a Law that allows us to notify Telemarketers when they call to remove us from their Calling Lists and after a reasonable time if they continue they can be charged with a hefty Fine. It seems they don’t understand that Apartments don’t have Duct Work and continue to bother us with those calls.
Since we had an appointment for 1:00 we decided to have an early lunch. I made Grilled Bacon and Cheese Sandwiches with Dill Pickle garnishing while Kathy added Blue Berries with Chocolate Sauce on Chapman’s Frozen Yogurt for dessert. As soon as we finished eating we immediately cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen.

We had just completed that when there was a knock on our door. It was Mary from Healthy Heals carrying all her equipment. Another resident saw here coming with her load and just let her in which is fine by us because we trust her even though she was a Half Hour early. For those who don’t know that due to Kathy having Diabetes she has a problem with her Toe Nails. So our Health Care Provider pays for in-house treatment that we pay up front for but are reimbursed most times within a week.

When we travel out of country I take care of Kathy’s feet until we return so as not to take Mary’s job away from her. Because the Provincial Government was keeping us in Phase 2 of the Coronavirus Recovery Mary was being restricted as to how many people she could see in a day which meant she had to make appointments Eight Weeks apart. Last month Kathy’s Toe Nails had grown so much I had to intervene and help her out. We mentioned that to Mary and she was able to make her next appointment for Five Weeks.

We had Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice for supper that we purchased in the Frozen Food Section at the grocery store. It still taste as if it were freshly delivered.

Watching the 6 o’clock Local News we learned there are additional Coronavirus Cases in our area but they are now coming in low numbers. They also talked of how Return To School had been delayed by Two Days and that we could be seeing an early Fall especially with all the Rain we are continuing to have.
After the News was finished we headed out the door. We found out really quick what 63 F (17 C) with Twenty MPH Wind out of the North feels like when you’re not dressed for it.

We drove to Green Shield so that Kathy could submit her Claim Form for today’s procedure. Since the Virus Shutdown you need to put it in the Mail Slot so that’s what we did.

From there we went to our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh for a visit. The first one to meet us at the door was Sanford followed by Nova who was over visiting. We had a pleasant visit even though we had to sit inside. It was past 9:00 before we said Good-Night.
Nova taking a nap.
I’m hoping to get a few more things done tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

Words of Inspiration

Keep on beginning and failing. Each time you fail start over again and you will grow stronger until you have accomplished a purpose, not the one you began with perhaps but one you’ll be glad to remember.

  2. I've got to register for the no-call list. No, we don't want an extended warranty on our truck that has almost 250k miles on it. When they hear this they hang up anyway. And no we don't qualify for reduced electric costs in NJ since we now live in Alabama. Just leave us alone.

Like you, we are feeling the cooler weather down here. Feels great when I walk outside to feed the ducks each morning.

  3. Next time you make that lunch you both concocted, let me know. I'll be there, so set out a third plate. On the other hand, I probably can't get into Canada, as I'm in Texas, and have been for a long time. Ages, and ages. Glad you are both being careful and staying well. I do enjoy your blog. Thanks.
