Before retirement over Ten Years ago I’d hear people comment how they dreaded Mondays but since I worked Seven Days a Week and most times Twelve Hour Days it didn’t phase me. Now that I’ve experienced the freedom of not working I’m more appreciative of my time away from a workplace.

I have been mentioning to my Supervisor at Work that the TIG Welder that I use is not working properly. I’ve been constantly getting jolted from the High Frequency starting mode, it is hard to get any Heat for the weld but the Torch gets extremely Hot. Years ago when I repaired Molds or Dies my job was simply put the metal where I was told and someone else machined it. Here when welding the Fixtures that I have been doing I’m required to use a Vernier Caliper to check for Metal Distortion and if it goes too far we have to fix it. The Supervisor wasn’t happy when a few of the Fixtures I had welded since last week needed adjusting so I reminded him of the issues that I face with this Machine.

The next thing I know the Welder that has been giving me the bum steer shows up to try my Machine saying there was nothing wrong with it until he tried it. He jumped higher then I have when he got the High Frequency Shock and a Minute later he couldn’t hold on to the Torch anymore because it was too Hot. Those Two Problems will steel away the Heat necessary to make a small well controlled weld. He actually worked with me to adjust the other Fixtures because he realized I was telling the truth.

Since these Fixtures need to be painted and ready for shipment in the Morning I did stay an additional Half Hour to finish welding the Fixture on my Bench. I let Kathy know I was delayed.
Kathy had been busy doing some research the last couple of weeks. When she contacted one of those places today she was told we didn’t qualify.
For supper while I grilled up some Spare Ribs Kathy was busy making a Garden Salad along with Peas for a side. Today’s high only reached 73 F (23 C) but with Wind Gusts of 35 MPH it felt quite comfortable.
We are back to a week of appointments so I’ll let you know about them tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
