Quick Start and Eclipse Watching.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Just when we were finally getting a good night’s sleep, we woke up gasping for air. (At least I did.) Just like yesterday the Power flickered but this time my CPAP Machine went down long enough, that I woke just trying to breath. Though Kathy said her Machine was working just fine, why was the Clock blinking like yesterday.

We checked all the Blogs we follow, our Messages and Local News before heading out. The temperature was already 45 F (7 C) and climbing under mainly Sunny skies, with little breeze at 11:15.

As we were pulling away, Kathy’s phone went off. Guardian Storage was calling to say we had a heavy package waiting.

We used a Coupon for an early lunch at McDonald’s and were surprised at how many children were there with their Parents or Grandparents. Then we remembered lots of Schools were not having classes today because of all the negativity the Eclipse would cause.

There was no Mail when we arrived at Guardian Storage just the package that we’d only ordered on Saturday and it was here already, without using Prime. We then went to the Storage Unit that I put my Tools in, where I retrieved Two Welding Shields and Two Pair of Cutting Glasses.

Somehow Kathy had thought that the Eclipse was going to take place at night, so she wasn’t going to watch it. By the time she understood it was a daytime event, there were no Eclipse Glasses available anywhere around.

After checking the temperature at 72 F (22 C) we headed onto our Balcony. We were able to watch the Eclipse start to finish, only lifting the Shields a few times to witness Automatic Lights coming on, then as the Sun again began to take over, we felt the temperature drop. It was down to 63 F (17 C) in less than an Hour.

We had seen people on Park Benches and Folding Chairs along the Ganatchio Trail watching, as well as others on their own Balconies. Our Eyes had been well protected, but because of the Balcony above ours, we had to slump in our Chairs, to get a good view. It wasn’t my Hip/Leg that was telling me to straighten up my act, but it was worth it.

It didn’t matter what Network you checked for the News, the Eclipse was front and center. It didn’t matter who was being interviewed, they all raved about what they had witnessed.

It was past our Local News before we shared a Store-Bough Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for supper.

We got a call from our New Accountant, scheduling our Income Tax Return pick up.

I can bring the Welding Shields back to our Storage Unit.

  1. Glad you got to see the eclipse. More than likely the last one we will ever see. Did you think it was exciting as everyone being interviewed on the news?

  2. Glad to hear you've re-retired! You'll have plenty of time for mosy-ing around.
