Kathy Can Hear Me Now, Explaining About Being “Off The Grid” and Terrible Toothache.

We both seemed to have a problem sleeping last night. Kathy had a hard time falling to sleep due mostly to the Side Effects of her Shingles Vaccine. I had a hard time staying asleep and ended up sitting in the living room trying to tire myself out for a while. Even with those Hours of lost sleep we were both having breakfast shortly after 8:00 this morning.
Looking out the windows we didn’t like the fact that everyone’s vehicle in the parking lot had turned suddenly White. With the forecasted temperature supposed to rise above the Freezing Mark we weren’t too worried about it.

After checking what else was happening in the world on our Computers we made a note of all the Supplies that we felt were needed to make our stay here more comfortable.

We were heading out the door by 11:30 and soon heading down Riverside Drive all the way to the town Tecumseh. Turning up Lesperance Road our next turn would be into the parking lot for Hearing Life where Kathy had a 12:00 appointment to have her Hearing Aides checked and adjusted.

Since it was nearly 12:30 when we left we stopped at the Dairy Queen where we each had a Chicken Wrap along with a Soft Drink for our lunch.
Looking out the back door of the building that is
the Detroit River on the other side of the road.
We then drove over to the Shoppers Drug Mart where I suddenly realized the Supply List we had made was still in the apartment. Every Thursday all Shoppers Drug Marts have what they call Seniors Day. When you go to the Check-out you present them with your Optimum Card that shows you are Senior and you save Twenty-Percent on your entire purchase including things that are already “On Sale” plus you collect points that you can later redeem. Luckily everything was still fresh in my mind and the only reason we didn’t get everything there was because that store was out of stock. To solve that problem we simply drove to the next Shoppers Drug Mart where we got the last Two Items.
We had made other purchases last week that we realized were unnecessary so we made a couple of stops at Canadian Tire and Walmart to make those returns.

Camp Walmart.
From there we headed to our Trailer at Guardian Storage. Kathy wanted to get some Books so she would have some reading material while I gathered a few more Tools to bring back to the apartment. We then stopped at our Storage Unit and picked up our full sized Upright Vacuum Cleaner. Finally we stopped at the Office where we collected our Mail.

In the Mail we collected was our Reimbursement Cheque from Green Shield covering the cost of Kathy’s foot treatment from Mary from Healthy Heals. Instead of taking the chance that it would get lost in the mayhem we are presently in we went to Motor City Community Credit Union to cash it so Kathy will have the money to pay Mary on her next visit.

One of the Tellers who knows us well asked why we hadn’t headed south yet. I explained about Kathy’s health issues. Then she said we would miss the Florida Temperatures. That’s when I explained about being “Off the Grid” in the Arizona Desert. She was amazed and wished she could do that.
We finally made it back to the apartment where I brought everything up while Kathy made us each a Hot Pork Sandwich with Peas for supper. Home Cooked Meals always taste better but just are not always practical.

After cleaning up the Dishes we were soon heading back out shortly after 4:30. One of the things on our Supply List was in our Garden Shed in Amherstburg at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house. Taking the back roads we were able to miss a lot of the Rush Hour Traffic heading home after a long day at work.
When we arrived Kathy went in to visit while I went to our Garden Shed and retrieved the Anchors that I had on the shelf. Back inside Kevin had just gotten out and had a terrible Tooth Ache and the soonest the Dentist can see him is in the morning. We still had an enjoyable visit but cut it short so Kevin could rest and we needed to stop at Canadian Tire in town.

There were things on the List that were added as we ate supper. In order for our Furniture to fit tightly against the walls I needed to get different Connectors for our Cable Connection. It took a bit longer to get because they were all locked away in a Display Cabinet.

Even though we have more errands to run tomorrow I should be able to accomplish a few more things around the apartment. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
