After Ten Years of Retirement having to go to work in the morning almost feels foreign to me. Last night I kept waking only to roll over for another short sleep. The Alarm got a new name !@#$ when it woke me this morning because I actually felt like sleeping longer. I felt disoriented while having breakfast and packing my lunch that Kathy had made for me last night.

I arrived at Work at 6:20 this morning which is later then normal but I was still the first to arrive. I would later find out that this was the same time that Kathy woke up and no matter how hard she tried could not fall back to sleep. This Job is affecting more then just myself.

Before finishing the day on Friday we had moved my work area to a different section of the Plant near the Lazer Cutters. Today Dan another Welder started a Week of Vacation and since the Proto-Type is still being evaluated I could be used as his Vacation Replacement. By 10:00 this morning the Humidex was already 97 F (36 C) and it felt like someone had poured a bucket of water on me. By the end of the day I had nearly completed Three separate jobs that need to be done before the weekend but it took over Five Minutes to peel my Coveralls off because they were that wet.

By the time I did a quick wash up and punched out it was Raining like crazy. Being already soaked I just headed to the Truck. The drive Home was slowed because of the change in driving visibility. Seeing how warm I was Kathy gave me a Mott’s Frozen Fruit Juice to help cool me down. Looking outside the Rain had suddenly stopped.
Clouds make for interesting Sunsets.
Kathy had been working on our Expenditure Spreadsheet today and after making lots of Entries it started to cause her problems. Since I’m the one who set it up using Microsoft Excel it was an easy fix. It just seems that every once in a while the Gremlins show up to cause problems and change some Functions.
After a refreshing Shower I grilled a Store Bought Hawaiian Pizza on our Weber Q. From frozen to perfectly cooked it only took Twenty Minutes. We also had a Yogurt Cup for dessert.

Kathy finished making my lunch earlier and we’ll try to make up some of our lost sleep tonight. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Ask A Silly Question:

If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?

  1. I have tried and tried to grill a frozen pizza on our Weber, but it never turns out. Either burn the bottom or it's just not cooked right. What's your secret???

  2. I can not believe how much rain you have been receiving since your return to Canada.

After ten years of retirement it is going to take your body a while to get to back to work mode.

Thanks for the tip on Microsoft Excel, I had been wondering what software you used for your record keeping.

  3. I am a huge fan of Excel ... unfortunately I have a cloned version on my Mac computer ... not near as good as the real thing. Welding in all that heat makes it even hotter. Maybe find one of those neck ties with the gel stuff in it? Get it wet and keep it around your neck. It's amazing how much cooler you will be. Even a wet "anything" will help.
