We certainly don’t want to get used to sleeping until 8:00 in the morning. It’s almost like half the day is already gone. I believe part of the problem is the lack of Sunshine that normally starts peeking through our Window Shades even before the Sun comes over the Mountain Range to the east. This morning’s picture was almost a match to last nights Sunset but looking in the opposite direction.
This morning's Sunrise.
After finishing my morning reading on the Computers and inside chores I had other things to check out. Before I could do anything an RV and its Towed came driving up and stopped at the spot known as the Rock Map. We have witnessed convoys of Jeeps and UTVs stopping to show people how well done this Map of North America is done. Because you can drive around it without going into a Wash the woman driving the Towed insisted her husband bring their “A” Class in that area. Lets just hope she doesn’t start throwing the rocks around because it would be the loss of a local treasure.
Clouds stuck around all day.
The last time we ran our Generator it didn’t seem to run at a steady pace under load. Someone asked when was the last time I checked the Air Filter. It didn’t take long to have the Generator opened only to find the Air Filter as clean as the day it was put in probably because it is never run during any dust storms and is kept covered. About that time Wayne and Sue arrived after running an errand in town. As most would know if you open the hood on your Vehicle or work on your Generator it attracts attention. Since Wayne was bang on with his diagnosis for our Truck when he asked I told him what was happening and why. First thing he told me was with the New Generators you always have to have Fresh Gasoline. Since this Gas is nearly a year old even though it contained Gasoline Stabilizer it is too old. He said to simply top off our Jerry Can with High Test Gas to normalize it. Sounds good to me. Thanks Wayne!
After cleaning up I started making some Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch along with a couple of Cheese Sticks and Yogurt for dessert. Kathy added a couple of Juice Boxes and a Cookie.
After talking for a bit we were soon out the door. The Clouds were as thick as they had been yesterday but that was fine.
The east sky at Sunset.
We’ve been trying to say hello to Deb and Riley from the blog Ona long and lonesome highway. Even though they don’t live too far from where we live in Ontario we keep missing the opportunity to meet and there have been plenty of almost encounters. As we drove back and forth on Plamosa Road Kathy said it was like looking for a Needle in a Haystack. We even drove through a number of washes finding the place we attended the Boondocking Rally last March, then where we met Lorne and Sue from A Place Called Away for the Campfire. After searching for nearly an hour we didn’t find the Igloo or Dogsled.
Heading back towards Quartzsite it sounded like someone hammering under the Truck as the tires tossed off all the stones that they had picked up.
Since we have been behaving ourselves we stopped at Dorothy And Toto’s for an Ice Cream Cone. It was a chore finding someplace to park because even though there are signs posted the lot was filled with vehicles from Silly Al’s customers.
After enjoying our tasty treat we headed over to Coyote Fresh Food to pickup a few things. Since we didn’t have our Grocery List with us we were very selective as to what we brought Home.
The Clouds only started to break just before the Sun started to set giving us some interesting pictures. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  4. I run nothing but #1 or high test in my generator, the lower grades have ethanol in them and rumour has it that attracts water into the system. They don't burn enough to make cost a factor in any case.
