Really Wet Weather, Still Accomplishing Things and A Real Pain.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Having spent most of the afternoon outside yesterday I felt that it would be difficult staying awake and that was exactly what was happening while I was composing the blog. Not wanting to take any chances I even excepted the offer of having a cup of Sleepy-Time Tea to guarantee a sleep filled night. After going to bed I would spend most of the early morning hours tossing and turning and struggling to get any sleep what-so-ever. Having watched the clock from 5:00 in the morning when it was within moments of 6:00 it seemed the perfect time to start my day.
Rain coming down at 8:00 this morning.
Knowing that I was up long before the sun was expected to make its appearance didn’t stop me from my morning routine of opening the curtains and making the initial preparations for breakfast. The Weather Guessers were right on the money when they said to expect Severe Thunderstorms around 7:00 this morning accompanied by high winds out of the west. The wind was strong enough that it rocked the trailer and the rain sounded like a drum on the roof but luckily Kathy slept through the worst of it. I would complete all my morning reading and even played a few games on the computer by the time Kathy finally got up.
Chocolate Pecan pie
With the rotten weather forecast there wasn’t much I could work on outside so after completing my morning chores Kathy suggested that I finish working on our special project that we are creating while she made a wonderful Chocolate Pecan pie. Kathy was impressed the way the Watermark helped to enhance the words but we won’t be showing you the finished results until after its presentation in the next month because the recipient is a follower of our post.
It was still damp enough inside to have Hot Soup to go with our Salads for lunch along with Mandarin Oranges and the last of her Homemade Energy Bars for dessert. Once we’d finished washing the lunch dishes we both worked together at getting things chopped and cooking in our Crock Pot for supper
We have a number of things like waiting for the Heat Shield, being hampered by the weather or having errands and appointments to run that have interfered with me finishing some of my projects. At 3:00 we were on our way to Amherstburg where Kathy had an appointment with our dentist. Shortly after our latest checkups she developed a sensitivity in one of her teeth. After the tooth was Re-examined and X-rayed the problem was deemed the tooth to be Extra Sensitive and the only thing they could do was apply a Topical Sealer to the tooth to make it less sensitive. That meant she couldn’t eat anything until after 6:00.

In order to waste bit of time we had a few other stops to make such as at Dollarama and Dollar Tree looking for storage containers for the front closet. The car was getting low on gas so after fueling up at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar we finally went to Walmart where Kathy did some grocery shopping while I picked up another SD Card for the camera.
Coming out of Walmart we were greeted by a strange sight.
As we were leaving to head back Home there was a bright light that suddenly appeared in the sky. Since it was the first time we’d seen it all day it was well appreciated. Supper was done to perfection when we got back to the trailer and we hadn’t slaved over a hot stove all day.
Crock Pot Supper, Pork Roast, Carrots, Potatoes and Cranberry Sauce.
Tomorrow we’ll try to get a lot more things checked off our to-do list. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Kathy makes the prettiest pies. I'm anxious to hear about your secret project. We've got beautiful weather here in Durango. We're told it's going to rain on Thursday so we'll save driving exploration for then.
