More Progress and A Great Visit with Fellow Bloggers.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After helping to clean the house on Wednesday Kathy and I were surprise that we had no ill effects but that was short lived. Last night neither of us managed to string two consecutive hours of sleep together. Just before going back to bed at 6:30 I knew that if the alarm wasn’t set we’d be sleeping until noon. When it did go off it took Kathy an extra fifteen minutes to find her way to the dining room table. It’s almost as if we have to retrain our bodies to sleep at night when we want to sleep and not sleeping in or napping through the day.
Our new sign
With breakfast complete the first thing I did was to install our new sign (that I didn’t show you yesterday) above the entry door. Not only is it eye catching but the message says it all about our new lifestyle. As mentioned before there are lots of uses for Velcro not only for mounting things on the walls but for mounting Recycle and Trash bins to the floor. No need to pack them away when traveling when they remain exactly where they are used and if you decide to relocate them just peel away the old and apply some fresh Velcro.
What we woke up to this morning.
I’d managed to cut the grass before lunch as it was starting to look a bit straggly especially since we managed to get another half inch of rain after we went to bed last night.
Kathy wanted something different for lunch so she whipped up a tasty batch of Pancakes covered with Strawberries and Cool Whip. That more that gave us the energy that we needed to make it through the rest of the afternoon.

Back outside after completing the task of mounting the Wind Deflector Frame I also remounted the Wind Deflector and the lights mounted to the frame itself. It was past 3:30 by that point so I had to call it a day and move the truck to the Overflow Parking Area by the Clubhouse making room for guests to park at our site.

After a refreshing shower Kathy and I were ready to go greet our guests for supper at the 19th Hole Restaurant at the front of the park. We were a bit early so we managed to reserve our favourite table while waiting and it was a good thing because the place just suddenly filled up. They moved extra tables from the banquet hall into the main dining room to accommodate everyone.
Benno and Marlene back at our trailer.
Our guests Marlene and Benno from Marlene and Benno's Odysseys on Land and Water blog came to join us for supper and a visit. We barely got a chance to meet this world traveling couple last fall before they headed to the southwest for the winter. During our meal the multiple conversations never stopped. Marlene and Kathy talked about past and future travels, their new Dachshund puppies Reggy and Elsa and our new trailer while Benno and I talked shop about computers, tools, what we have done and plan to do to our trailers.
Marlene walking Reggy and Elsa.
We all had an enjoyable meal but as we were leaving the restaurant Kathy and I had another big surprise. We got to meet Reggy and Elsa first hand. Since the pups are still in the training stages the thought of leaving them home unattended for who knew how many hours was out of the question. Another thing that was out of the question was leaving them in a hot truck the entire time we were visiting. Instead they had remained in their portable kennel inside the truck with the Air Conditioning running the entire time. Marlene brought them over to the Dog Park so they could stretch their legs burning off that endless puppy energy before going back into their kennel.
Marlene and Benno followed us to our trailer where they again left the dogs in the Air Conditioned truck even though we offered they be brought inside. They were both in awe at the size of the trailer on the outside then again when they saw the layout, the furniture and Our New Sign on the inside. After the grand tour Marlene presented Kathy with a house warming gift for our new home. After having read our blog every day she knew she was safe to buy us Food Storage Containers like the ones that Kathy stores her dry food stocks in the pantry. Thank You Marlene and Benno that was a sweet surprise. The conversations continued where they had left off in the restaurant until they finally had to head for their home with their adorable Furkids. We’re hoping to meet again before everyone heads south for the winter.
After a relaxed but satisfying day we’ll have to start making progress at getting things ready for when we leave in Fifty-Two days. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. What a great visit with your friends. I used to leave Jack with the air conditioning on if I went in some place to eat or had to make a quick run into Walmart. I love your ideas about using velcro to anchor things to the floor. I'm going to do it! Thanks, Rick!

  2. Congratulation again to your new home. This is truly the nicest fifth wheel we've ever seen and you have decorated it so tastefully. Thank you for the invite, dinner and tour. That was an enjoyable visit and we must get together again. There are so many more topics we left out in our chats.
You can be very proud of your new rig.
