Appointments, Chores and Laughs.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night the low was forecasted to only drop near the 50 F (10 C) mark so we slept with the windows ajar and without our heavy bedcover. While sitting at the breakfast table this morning we both noted that we’d been awake on and off most of the night. Guess we’ll be pulling the heavy bedcover up before going to sleep tonight.

After a quick phone call to our son Kevin we were on our way to Fantastic Sam’s for our scheduled haircuts. We’ve been dealing with Jenna for years and she knows how we like our hair trimmed. Every year that we’ve gone south for the winter we have yet to find anyone who will cut it the same as she does so. In the spring upon our return home it takes longer for Jenna to straighten our hair back to the way we like it. We were there less than a half hour this morning and walked away feeling once again human.

We headed back to the apartment to have lunch and for me to put on my work clothes. As soon as we’d eaten I packed my clean casual clothes in a bag and we were once again headed towards Amherstburg to our son Kevin’s. I have most of my tools stored in his garage with a little arrangement worked out with Kevin. Once we arrived I immediately started getting the tools needed for the job. I needed to replace the static strap on the car and the screws were seized in the bracket so the only way to do it was to grind the heads off the bolts. It took longer to set up and clean up than to do the actual job. Within minutes I was installing the new strap. Kevin also helped me to locate a few other things that we’ll need to have with us when we start Fulltiming next year.

Since it was still too early for our Wednesday evening visit after I’d changed into my other clothes Kathy and I drove over to the local Walmart. Kathy thought that maybe a different store location might have the pants she was looking for but she struck out again. We continued walking around the store where she did manage to find four more gifts to scratch off her shopping list. She is very upset with herself for not having all her shopping done by now especially since there is only 65 days left before that important day. Using a coupon this evening we went to Subway where we both had supper for less than nine dollars.

By 5:30 we were back at Kevin and Melissa’s for our weekly visit. There was a lot more serious discussion about Cameron and Matthew’s schooling and then about a possible job promotion for Melissa. We talked more about our plans for Fulltiming and some of the things we’ve been finding out. We spoke of the upcoming Halloween Party and then as all our visits there were twists and turns in the conversations that would have everyone enjoying some healthy and hearty laughs.

On the way home Kathy didn’t feel sick to her stomach once meaning that the new static strap was already doing its job. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. We know exactly what you mean about finding someone to cut your hair. It's almost scary picking someone you don't know to cut your hair.

  2. I started cutting my own hair over 20 years ago because it is so thin and fine. Suzie's long hair just needs a trim couple times a year makes it easy when we are on the move all the time.

  3. Please give Melissa are best wishes for the hopefully promotion.

My biggest complaint about being on the road is getting my hair cut! I just hate the thought of it. I have decided to just go to Best Cuts where ever we are.
