Preparation Chores Shopping and Visiting.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both managed to get a decent night’s sleep last night. We believe that having been able to once again have the window open might have helped. We spent part of the morning working on the computers before getting into other chores. Kathy was busy scrubbing the grouting in the bathroom while I worked on repairing our bicycle covers. Once lunch was finished we cleaned up the dishes before heading out the door.

We went over to visit our friends Kathie and Ross but when we arrived nobody was home. Not to waste any time we drove over to the nearby Canadian Tire. I’ve some body work that I need to do on the car and had to pick up the supplies. We walked around the store getting some walking in and even found a storage rack on sale that will help us when we put what belongings we plan on keeping into a climate controlled storage locker. Unfortunately they didn’t have all the supplies I needed because the car is eleven years old so we ended up driving to Cross Canada Auto Body Supplies. If you can’t find an exact paint match for your vehicle they custom make it for you while you wait.

We returned to Kathie and Ross’s finding them both at home this time. We got caught up on what’s been happening in their lives and then we told them of our decision to RV fulltime and why. They were immediately supportive and understood how this will help us save money. Ross pointed out what Kathy and I already knew that when we are traveling we are still paying rent on our apartment and when we’re at home we have to pay storage for the trailer. Since their son Dwayne was down visiting at their daughter Christine’s we even had a chance to tell them. They both wished they were ready to retire so they could do the same thing.

At home Kathy cooked up some spiral sliced ham and eggs while I made toast and hot chocolate for supper. Watching the 6 o’clock News we were happy to see all the financial markets doing better than last week where everything was falling. Tomorrow we’ll try to accomplish a few more steps towards our change of lifestyle. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

They really mean: I've lost the original memo.

  1. No rent for us to pay and no storage for the rv or our possessions. What we own is in our rv. At well over $1,000. a year for storage we have been fulltime almost 10 years can replace everything in the storage many times over.

  2. Good luck in your new adventure! My husband and I made the decision in Oct. 2013 but have a few mths of work in London left first. Retiring by July 2016 we hope to sell our house in the spring. Purging has already started and it feels really good!
