The Deed is Done.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Blame it on the fresh air but Kathy was in bed asleep before I posted the blog last night just after 10:00 and slept soundly until this morning. After I posted the blog I packed away the computers leaving very little in the back room of the trailer to clean up for this morning. Unfortunately I wasn’t as lucky as Kathy because as soon as my head hit the pillow my mind started racing. I didn’t hear the highway traffic in the distance but I just couldn’t sleep. I last looked at the clock just after 6:00 in the morning then again at 8:10 when Kathy was getting up. Talk about a power nap. Maybe going to bed during the summer and waking up in the fall had something to do with it but that’s doubtful.

We enjoyed our breakfast but by 9:00 we were both working (Terrible Word) at closing up the trailer. While Kathy did the dishes and gathered the last of the toiletries that needed to come to the apartment. I busied myself with changing the bed linens to flannel sheets that will help us keep war on the first few days of our southbound trip this winter. I then headed out to the truck taking a load of things headed back to the apartment. It was easier doing it during the coolness of the morning than struggling with it during the heat of the day. Between each load I carried out to the truck I flushed and emptied a different waste tank. Then after shutting off our utilities I emptied the fresh water system by opening the low point drains. I was surprised at how much water was in the system because I try to only carry a half tank of fresh water. With all the low point drains once again closed with Kathy’s help we filled the faucets and drains with the antifreeze thus bringing an end to our 2015 camping season. We both felt terrible about this making us feel like we’d just laid a pet to rest. The good news is we’ll be back on the road heading south after Christmas which is only 93 days away

By the time we swung around the loop to exit the park it was noon hour. It seemed there was also something stopping traffic from the direction of Lauzon Parkway which is the direction we’d come from yesterday so we simply went by Walker Road. Once we were back at Guardian Storage Kathy asked that I let her practice towing the trailer around to our site. With little coaching from me she did a great job but when it came to backing it into the spot she handed the job back to me. Maybe with a little more practice and confidence Kathy might even share in future driving.

It was nearly 1:00 by the time the trailer was parked and secured so we needed to stop at Harvey’s for lunch. Instead of the typical burger we each had a grilled hotdog and fries for lunch. After we’d eaten we basically backtracked yesterday’s route and stopped to pick up the pictures we needed printed before heading for home.

Yesterday we loaded the truck with the use of a single shopping cart. Today it took two shopping carts to unload the truck. We then spent the next couple of hours getting everything organized and put away in the apartment. For supper the Weber Q did a great job of cooking a modified pizza for us. It turned out perfectly. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. Think on the positive side. Christmas will be here before you know it and you will be back on the road.

  3. Well, it's good to get that task out of the way, but it won't be long before you are back on the road for the 2016 season! See you in Florida!
