Busy With Errands and Worried Grandparents.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

The temperature wasn’t as cool last night but it was still comfortable enough for sleeping with the windows open. It’s almost like being in a campground with the highway noise off in the distance just lulling you to sleep. We were both slightly better rested this morning getting up before 8:00. Once we’d had a light breakfast we immediately busied ourselves on the computers before getting ready to run some errands.

Since the apartment building was sold from one company (Boardwalk) to another (Skyline) we had some banking to do. Our first stop was the Motor City Credit Union where we needed to put a stop payment to any further transactions with the Boardwalk Corporation. Without moving our feet the teller set up the Automatic Payment Plan with our new landlords the Skyline Corporation. We even managed to put a few dollars in our own pockets since it was two weeks ago since our last withdrawal.

When we walked out we decided on having an early lunch. Since the Credit Union and Taco Bell share the same parking lot it was as simple as walking from one building to the other. We find that by eating a couple of tacos each we are well satisfied without being overly full.

We again walked across the parking lot over to the Dollar Store where we walked the aisles just to pass some time. We did manage to find a few things for an upcoming Halloween Party we’ll be attending next month. Kathy has been thinking of making her own hooked rugs for our bedroom because the ones we’ve been buying just don’t last. Imagine her surprise when she found Rug Pads that you use to make a hooked rug. She insisted on buying only one there because she was certain the Fabric Shop would have more.

This time we had to drive three blocks to the Fabric Shop where Kathy chose three different colors of Jersey material for making her rugs. When she asked the clerk where their Rug Pads were she was told they no longer carried them. When we told the clerk we had just gotten one she asked where because she’d been looking around. After paying for our purchase we drove back to the Dollar Store and bought three more Rug Pads.

Back at the apartment Kathy went to her computer while I went for the mail and to drop off a form to Dan the building manager. By the time I returned we were once again heading out the door to our daughter Karen’s to warm up supper for Tyler and Kylla. When we walked in we saw Kylla’s bedroom door closed and thought that she was sleeping because she works midnight shift as well as going to school through the day. Kathy got the food from the freezer put in the oven with no problem. Strangely Tyler wasn’t home yet. Kathy had forgotten her book with Tyler’s cell phone number in it so I returned to the apartment to retrieve it. Just after I left Kylla walked in the front door. She told Kathy that Tyler had just texted her that he was staying at school to try out for their hockey team. We were relieved he was safe but upset he didn’t call us. His folks are back home tonight.

Back at the apartment Kathy steamed up some vegetables to go with the spare ribs that I was grilling on the Weber. Everything tasted great and we were nicely satisfied. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Halloween photos are adorable.

Be sure to post some of Kathy's hooked rugs. This is something I have never tried.
