Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.
When we woke up this morning around 8:00 the sky looked
extremely ominous. Watching the Weather Network as we had breakfast the
forecast was that there would be showers for the entire day. Moments later as
we looked out the balcony door we could see the asphalt showing signs of
dampness. There were a few vehicles that drove by with their wipers on. That in
itself put a damper on our plans (Pun intended).
Heading over to the computers and checking the radar of the
area on the computer showed that the rain should clear up after lunch. Finishing
our reading and doing a few other things around the apartment we suddenly noted
the apartment starting to fill with sunshine. That change of events really
enlightened our plans (Pun intended again).
The reason we were so interested in the weather is that we want
to winterize the trailer ourselves but there are other things we need to do
first. Immediately after lunch we drove over to Guardian Storage where the
trailer is parked. Surprisingly the entire storage yard was bone dry so the
shower we had this morning didn’t come close to the storage yard. As soon as we
got there I turned on the power and Kathy started extending the slides. That’s
when Murphy came to visit. The main slide would only extend a small amount
making it so we couldn’t get in the rear bedroom. A quick look at the hydraulic
pump showed we were low on oil but there was only a slight amount that had
leaked into the catch tray.
While Kathy started going through the pantry to collect the
food stocks that we wanted to bring back to the apartment I drove to Canadian Tire.
There I was able to buy a quart of hydraulic oil to fix the slide issue. Back
at the trailer after adding only half that quart the slide worked flawlessly. Kathy
continued with gathering things to bring home while I went to work under the trailer.
When we went to visit our son Gary and his family in Niagara
Falls for the Labor Day weekend we’d had a minor problem when I went to connect
the rear sewage hose. As I released the drain cap there was some sewage that
started pouring out. The gate valve was closed but it was as if the rod was
disconnected. Today I opened the access panel to double check that the valve
was functioning properly. The valve worked just fine so it must have been just some
debris that had let the gate valve leak.
It was past 4:00 by the time we got everything loaded into
the truck and headed for home. Since neither of us were in the mood to cook
supper tonight we stopped at KFC to eat. We used a coupon that helped us have a
filling meal at a very discounted price. We also noted large water puddles throughout
the mall parking lot surrounding the outlet which means they had more rain than
we did.
Luckily when we got back to the apartment there was a
shopping cart available for us to haul everything we took from the trailer
upstairs. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Krackers
My
friend said he knew a man with a wooden leg named Smith.
So
I asked him what was the name of his other leg?
Great pun!
ReplyDeleteYou need to work on your Krackers....lol
We like to winterize our coach by heading south before it gets too cold, works for us.
ReplyDeleteLove those inexpensive fixes.
