Appointments and Errands.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Not one of our favorite things to do but we had to set the alarm clock to get up early this morning. Why bother! Whenever we set the alarm I barely sleep to begin with so I was up before the alarm went off anyway. For the tests that Kathy was having today she was allowed to have a light breakfast but it had to be consumed before 7:30 this morning. She had orange juice and toast while I had my usual cereal and coffee. Once Kathy had eaten and dressed she reclined in the living room in order to catch up on some of her lost sleep.

It was shortly after 8:30 when we left the apartment and headed to the west side of Windsor not for Kathy but for me. This was the day for my scheduled yearly physical at my family doctor’s. Since my appointment was so early there was only one other person in the waiting room when we arrived. Kathy sat with me until a woman and her sick kids walked in coughing and sneezing without trying to cover their mouths.

My doctor was impressed with my examination saying that I’m in good health now he just needs me to get some blood tests done and other tests I had done years ago redone. Two reasons for those tests are because of family history and the high risk occupation that I had as a career.

When I was finished Kathy and I looked around the nearby strip mall to use up some time before her appointment. We were surprise how much the area has changed since the last time we were there.

By the time we arrived at the parking lot we planned on using it was full up. We figured we’d bite the bullet and pay at the higher priced Hotel Dieu Hospital parking lot. As we parked the car a couple pulled up behind us and offered us their All-Day ticket they had purchased. Their test hadn’t taken as long as they expected and they were happy enough to pass the ticket along.

We had been sitting in the waiting room we’d been told to go to patiently waiting for Kathy to be called when a nurse she’d met yesterday recognized her. She told us we were in the wrong area and brought us to where we belonged. Again Kathy was injected with radioactive material so the pictures of her heart would show up clearly. Today however they had Kathy walking on a treadmill that they kept changing the elevation on. When her blood pressure hit 259/110 they stopped the test. After a brief rest they got the X-rays that they needed. Now we have to wait for the doctor to call with the results.

After eating lunch in the hospital cafeteria we went upstairs to visit with our friends Bill and Vera. Unfortunately since Bill had the surgery to remove blood from his brain his condition seems to have deteriorated. Again all we can do is pray for his recovery.

On the way home we stopped at the Metro Grocery Store for bread and milk and walked out with a few more things that we also needed. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
