Making Do.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Even though I didn’t sleep as soundly as I did the other night I did manage to wake up totally rested before 7:30 this morning. I let Kathy sleep until she woke an hour later because she does require more sleep than I do. Watching the Weather Channel during breakfast only confirmed what we already knew that our temperature is going to get uncomfortable for the next few days.

We decided that we’d go do grocery shopping this morning to add to the small groups of food stocks we had been gathering over the last few days. By 10:00 we were at the Zehr’s grocery store on Manning Road where we were faced with freshly stocked bins of fruits and vegetables along with the dairy cases and dry shelves. The best part was there was hardly any other customers when we walked in but by the time we left the store was filling up.

Once we had everything put away in the apartment and we turned on the computers I was shocked to read that Loyce Ivers the wife of Rod (Retired Rod) had suddenly passed away. All anyone can do is to pray for her and the entire Ivers family because both Kathy and I can truly understand what they will be going through and the roller coaster ride of emotions they will experience. Please keep them all in your prayers.

After lunch I called the Weber Barbecue Company to address the problem with our Weber Q Grill. After a fifteen minute wait the service representative asked the model and serial numbers before I explained what I had done to trouble shoot the problem. The immediate response was the same as what I suspected the Valve/Regulator assembly had failed. They got our mailing information and said the new part would be here between five to ten business days.

At this point we decided to make a quick trip to the trailer to borrow our small Coleman Grill so we could continue enjoying our barbecued meals as we saw fit. Since we won’t be using the trailer for travelling until after Christmas we’ll have everything back to the trailer before then.

Leaving the trailer we went to Princess Auto where I checked if they had the welding cable on sale so I could start running wires for solar panels while we are away this winter. Unfortunately the person that said they’d be coming on sale was wrong because they were on sale the week we were away in August. I’ll have to keep an eye on their sales online.

From there we needed some exercise so we went to Walmart and spent nearly an hour walking before we left without any purchases. Stopping at the Bulk Barn we were successful in finding Kathy’s pumpkin seeds and Glutten Free Pasta which is very helpful in keeping her diabetes under control.

The sun finally came out tonight while I grilled pork chops on the Coleman Grill which wasn’t like the Weber Q but it did the trick while Kathy made the Taco Salad and cooked Egg Rolls to go with them. Tomorrow we’ll be getting out as early as we can to beat the heat which should feel like 111 F (44 C). Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Prayers can bring so much comfort. And I know our Dear Lord hears them.
