Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.
When Kathy’s head hit the pillow last night that was the
last thing she remembered until she woke just after 8:00 this morning. I didn’t
quite sleep that solid only waking twice and the second time was just before
8:00 this morning when I got up.
Our neighbor Kelly was knocking on our door by 8:30 this
morning after being away for two weeks. Her parents had taken her to Calgary,
Alberta for her sister’s wedding and a vacation. Kathy had been taking care of
her kitty Mia for that time and was amazed how fast the time flew by. Kelly had
taken care of our house plants while we were away last winter so it was only
right to repay the favor.
For breakfast we again had cereal but with Raspberries on
them. While enjoying our coffees and the Weather Channel we learned that our
area had dodged a proverbial bullet as we saw videos of storm damage that took
place in our region last night. They also showed that we are now going to enjoy
cooler temperatures that are more realistic for this time of year. I had
planned on attending a meeting of Retirees at the Local this morning but with a
change of plans I missed the meeting. Shortly after having our breakfast we
brought the truck across town to the Dominion Body Shop so they’ll be able to
get the back of the truck repaired from our mishap on the 19th of
August.
Once back at the apartment we were finally able to sit at the
computers to get caught up on our daily reading before settling in to have
lunch. Of course we didn’t want anything going to waste so we finished the last
of the Penne Pasta Kathy had made the other day. Serving it in smaller portions
helps to make it go further without making it stick to the waistline as much. We topped
it off with yogurt and peaches for a dessert.
Before 1:00 we arrived at our daughter Karen’s home. They
were having a new washer and dryer delivered by The
Brick this afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00 so we were there just to let
them in since both Karen and Greg were at work and the kids were in school. Of course
as soon as we arrived Sanford thought it was play time so grandpa had to go
play catch with him in the back yard. No matter how hard I threw the ball he
would run all out to retrieve it until he was too warm then he’d dive into the
pool to cool down only to start the process over again. After the delivery was
done and we’d toweled Sanford off we left as a forlorned puppy watched us leave.
Kathy went back to researching places to travel to but later
in the afternoon she announced that it wasn’t for this coming winter but next
year. At this point in our lives we still have a lot of exploring to do. The plan
is that we will travel to different areas of the country find a place to stay
and see as much of the area as we can. So this winter we will be returning to
Florida and spend more time in the southern part of the state. For 2014-2015 we
will swing slightly west to the panhandle of Florida and then work our way into
Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Yes we have seen a lot of this
beautiful country but there is so much more to see.
After supper Kathy was starting to feel the need to stretch
her legs so we headed over to Walmart to do some walking. With the cooler
temperatures for our area for the weekend we might even get some outdoor
walking in. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
