Thanks to all the commenters that understood the side
effects that medications can have on people. I believe the doctor had no way of
knowing I would react because I am not on any other medications. Now if that
had happened to Kathy it could have been devastating as the medication that did
not work for her last winter in Florida was reacting to her other meds and it
was not until after we had left the country that the Pharmacists caught the
mistake.
Unfortunately this medication can have residual effects for
up to thirty days after being taken but I only took it for three days so I can
only hope the time is much shorter for recovery. Last night was the worst night
of the last three where I spent only a half hour in bed and the rest of the
night I spent being a contortionist trying to find a way to sleep. Tylenol did
nothing for the pain and it was not until Kathy got up at 8:30 that she found
the Ibuprofen. Within an hour of taking it I actually fell asleep for over an
hour.
It wasn’t until after lunch that I felt steady enough to
walk. Needing the exercise we headed back to Walmart but first we went through
our pantry and cupboards to check our food stocks. Armed with a list of things
that Kathy needed so she can make soup and a few other things that we are
picking up because they are on sale and we will be putting them in the trailer
when we head south this winter we headed off to the store. The other day we had
noted several of the items we use that were on sale for less than half price
which is a good buy. We walked strictly around the grocery section of the store
and if something on our list was no longer on sale we left it on the shelf and
on our shopping list for a future outing.
We got our exercise and our savings and we even stopped for
a soft drink at McDonalds before heading home. After putting the food stocks
away we were able to sit at the computers for a short while until it was time
for me to grill a couple of cheeseburgers on the Weber Q while Kathy made a
nice Taco Salad to go with it.
Once the dishes were clean and put away we headed over to
our daughter Karen’s for our weekly Sunday night visit. With the onset of the
cooler weather they decided to close their pool this weekend but were very
surprised when Sanford barked his objections. When he would be playing in the
back yard and got hot he would just dive in the pool and do laps to cool down
knowing he could get out at the stairs. Being a Lab who loves swimming it was
like having his toys taken away. We learned more of what is happening tomorrow
when our granddaughter Kylla has another surgery on her knee that she injured
on a ski trip with her high school a year and a half ago.
As I’m about to post this blog our DSL system just went down
and I’ve tried unsuccessfully to reboot it a few times so now we’re on the hub.
Tomorrow we’ve got a few errands to run including getting our preferred
internet system going but things are starting to come together for our trip
south this winter. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
