Special Gift.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

I’m really getting used to sleeping decently at night. I guess being able to breathe properly when you sleep really helps. I was wide awake around 7:30 so I got up and started opening the blinds & curtains in the other rooms to let in the sunlight. Now this turned out to be my first setback of the day because all I could see was wet pavement and so many dark clouds that I was expecting the sky to fall any minute.

Once I had gotten the coffee ready to brew and the dishes on the table I headed to take my morning shower and shave. When I was finished it was time to open the bedroom blinds & curtains to let some cloudy darkness in around 8:40 Kathy suddenly got out of bed and almost bumped into me not realizing that I was standing next to the bed.

Watching the Weather Channel while we finished breakfast we learned that although autumn does not officially start until 4:44 EDT tomorrow afternoon today’s temperatures would feel like the later part of the season. Once the table was cleared Kathy headed for the computer while I went to get dressed for my morning appointment.

Shortly after 9:30 I was on my way to the blood donor clinic at the Canadian Blood Services on Grand Marais Road. Today they weren’t too busy so even though I had a chance to talk to some of the usual workers there and having my after donation juice and cookies I was still on my way home before 11:00. Today was my 84th donation and again I made it on behalf of my friend Ernie who was recently treated for a Cancerous Tumor in his stomach. Back at the apartment I walked in just as Kathy was finishing vacuuming the apartment. That is one way of keeping her allergies in check.

After lunch we decided to go to the Devonshire Mall for walking and a little shopping that we had an earlier discussion about. Kathy was needing a dress style black jacket for special occasions. Myself I was looking at a waterproof lined windbreaker style coat with an attached hood. Starting at one end and going into any clothing store we saw we examined quite a number of different styles of jackets and coats for the both of us. Most stores we found way overpriced for what they were selling and the newer styles also made for bad fits so we passed on those. Finally after walking around looking for over two hours I found my waterproof lined windbreaker and it was on sale. Even after all that walking we needed to go across the street to Pennington’s at the Roundhouse Center. Finally Kathy found her jacket.

It was past 3:00 so Kathy suggested going next door to McDonald’s for a snack but when we got in there they were selling their Garden Wraps at two for one price. So with a pop between us we had an early supper.

Heading eastbound down the expressway we went past Tecumseh and headed out to Ernie and Cheryl’s home. The intention was to drop off a card from the blood donor clinic telling Ernie that I had donated on his behalf again. As soon as Cheryl saw me there was no way we weren’t coming in for at least a short visit. Cheryl and Kathy were talking of everything from travelling, downsizing and future plans while Ernie and I were talking of the past at work. It only felt like minutes that we were there but before we knew it three hours had passed and we could have continued talking longer. It was a very nice visit. After our goodbyes and the promise of getting together again soon we headed home.

Neither of us were hungry when we got home but were excited about our busy day. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Office Jokes, Quotes, and Anecdotes

Rob: Bucky, whether you believe it or not, I go to work every day.

Bucky (Rob's cat): to do what, though? You don't do anything so good here that it makes me think someone would pay you to do stuff somewhere else.

Rob: You have no idea what I —

Bucky: No, no. I mean I'm impressed that you found some idiot to support you and let you hang around. (pause) Hang on, is that the way it works? Is Satchel actually your employee?

Satchel (Rob's dog): Ho Ho! Hello backpay!
