Fall Walk and Savings.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

For the last week I have been experiencing leg cramps and just kept thinking of September 19th as the cure for the problem. That will be the three month post-op date that the surgeon told me that I should wait before slowly start back exercising. I have just been putting up with the discomfort but after I finally fell asleep last night my legs became sore beyond belief. The hernia bothered me so bad that I had to stop working out at the beginning of 2012. As the muscles become more laxed they become even more painful than when you are working out. Even after taking an extra strength Tylenol I probably only got three hours of sleep last night.

The temperatures finally dropped to below seasonal for our area today which was quite the change from the heat wave type temperatures we had been getting lately. This made for perfect outdoor walking and since we have lived in Tecumseh Kathy and I really hadn’t gotten to explore the area on foot. After breakfast Kathy and I started walking towards the town’s main intersection. We took note of some of the older buildings that the town has held onto in its downtown area which is something that a lot of cities fail to do thus losing most of their history. We even stopped by a small museum that had artifacts back from the days of when the early pioneers came to this area to create their homesteads.

The only problem we had was that this is no longer summer so the museum is only open on Saturdays until next summer. The whole time we were gone for our walk the skies looked very threatening but it was more of a cold front as the temperature barely made it into the 60’s today and there is even a frost warning for tonight.

By the time we returned to the apartment there was a phone message waiting for us. It turned out to be Purolator needing our apartment number as the shipper hadn’t put it on. Kathy and I couldn’t think of anything that should be coming until I called. I had contacted Weber about our faulty valve/regulator assembly for our Weber Q on Monday and it was already here in Windsor. I opted to pick it up this afternoon instead of waiting for delivery on Monday afternoon.
Built in 1882 the steeple is being rebuilt.
After lunch we headed to Walmart to look for a special birthday gift and since we won’t be in town on that date like our Christmas shopping we got a jump on it. We struck out on the east end store but Kathy did pick a few food stocks that she had written on her shopping list and they were on sale.

Now we stopped at Purolator to pick up the part for our Weber and with only a few people ahead of us we were back on the road within minutes. As we rounded the bend on the service road we both said it was time for a coffee break. Even though we both had a decaffeinated coffee it still gave us a few minutes to just appreciate that we were getting things accomplished.

As we were leaving we started seeing something that we hadn’t seen all day patches of a blue sky. We were actually starting to see breaks in the clouds giving us a glimmer of hope that it would be a nice day.

Both these pictures were taken standing on the same spot facing different directions.
Stopping at the west end Walmart we were once again disappointed at not finding what we wanted. As a last attempt we reluctantly stopped at the Devonshire Mall knowing we’d be paying a higher price. With luck we found exactly what we were looking for and on sale. If we had just gone to that store first we’d have saved the price difference in the cost of gasoline alone.

Back at the apartment Kathy started baking a Praline Fruit and Nut Bread. By the time she had that in the oven she was calling me for supper.  Tomorrow is supposed to be closer to 70 so I’m sure we’ll find other things to keep us busy. Oh that bread made a real tasty treat while I was writing this post. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
