Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.
You could tell our mental clocks were on to the fact that we
had appointments today. Both of us tossed and turned and when we finally got
out of bed around 8:00 neither of us felt rested. After cereal and coffee for
breakfast we did have a half hour to do our morning reading on the computers
before we had to leave.
Kathy had a follow-up appointment with her family doctor to
see how her new arthritic medications are working and to get the results of her
last round of blood tests. Surprisingly I never ever had a chance to finish one
crossword puzzle and Kathy was ready to leave.
We stopped at the Ford dealership to reschedule the oil
change for the truck to tomorrow instead of next week because the truck will
probably be in the body shop on Monday making it difficult to be in two places
at once. While I was talking to the service representative I looked up to see
one of my old Journeymen Bud Dean who helped
me refine my trade. We spoke for a while as he waited for his vehicle to be
serviced and after promising to get together in the future I had to leave.
Back at the apartment I got cleaned up while Kathy made
lunch. Now it was my turn to go see a specialist. On the way across town we stopped at the
Credit Union before ending up at the Medical Center I needed to go. Just as I was
about to pay for my parking permit a young woman was about to leave and asked
if an hour permit would be all I needed so I thanked her and didn’t have to pay
for the parking. By the time I was finished we only had seven minutes left
around and nobody to pass it off to.
Kathy and I haven’t been out walking for a while so we
stopped at the Devonshire Mall to do some walking. We even considered buying
supper there but then Kathy thought of going back to LaSalle near where we used
to live and have fish and chips at Sir Cedric’s. It had been a long time since
we’d been there but we weren’t disappointed because it was delicious as ever. While
enjoying our supper we also met Jim Turner
who I used to work with in my old plant but for some reason he hasn’t retired
yet after putting in over forty years in the industry.
From supper we drove to Amherstburg to visit with Kevin and
Melissa, plus Kevin was allowing me to empty the tool cabinets in our truck bed
in his garage until it returns from the body shop. I even removed the fifth
wheel hitch so the body shop would be able to access the bolts easier for
changing the damaged Toneau Cover rails. Kevin is slowly recovering from his Gallbladder
Surgery but still tried to help to move items that weren’t too heavy. I made
sure to wear my support belt so I wouldn’t mess myself up either. For it being
cooler temperatures than last week I was totally soaking wet by the time I finished
that chore. The visit went as always with lots of information flowing both ways
and lots of laughs thrown in for good measure.
Tomorrow is busy again but we’ll try to make time for some
adventures. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
