Hot Entertaining Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Even after tossing around a few times last night I still managed to wake up before 7:30 feeling totally refreshed. Kathy needed the extra sleep but was up shortly after 8:00 saying she had slept soundly throughout the night. The Weather Channel updated the forecast saying that it would not feel like 111 F this afternoon but only a sunny 115 F so that was definitely an improvement.

This morning’s breakfast was different than most but still satisfying and not overly filling. We had toasted Hot Cross Buns with a bowl of Cantaloupe along with our coffees. We finished the morning reading blogs and E-mails on the computers.

After lunch we headed over to the Odeon Cinaplex Theater at the Devonshire Mall. We are still using Gift Cards that were given to us as Christmas gifts last year. Part of the reason they have lasted so long is we tend to go to the movies on Tuesday afternoons which is considered Senior Matinee which is half price. We also have a Scene card which gives us additional discounting from the inflated prices everyone else has to pay. Unfortunately when we arrived we like many other seniors were left waiting until after 3:30 to go in because they had discontinued the matinee shows. We spent hours walking around the mall looking at this store and that but always walking out empty handed. Finally stopping at 3:00 to have a light supper at Taco Bell rather than being gouged by the high prices in the theater.

The movie we saw was The Butler. The story was a history lesson that many of us would and did remember through the news media or actually being part of it. Both Kathy and I gave it Two Thumbs up and are certain that it will be taking home quite a few Oscars when the Academy awards are given out.

By the time the movie was over and we made it home we barely had time to write this post. Tomorrow will be filled with appointments and visits but I’m sure it’ll be interesting. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for the reference on the movie. That's one that I'd like to see in the theater before it leaves. I'm hearing lots of good comments about it.

  2. Is the Butler one of those that should be seen on the big screen or will it be just as good on DVD when it comes out?

  4. Sounds like you had a great day enjoying the heat, we just hung out by the pool and a hockey arena.
    Sounds like a good movie.
