Different Kind of Busy

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

It is truly amazing how much better I have been sleeping for the last two nights with the new (loaner) CPAP machine. This morning I woke up feeling totally refreshed and wide awake before 7:30 and minutes later Kathy was awake proving that if I’m sleeping better then so is she because I’m not spending the night tossing and turning disturbing her sleep.

After a simple breakfast of toasted Hot Cross Buns and coffee we were soon at the computers. Having been so busy for the last few days I had some catching up to do but before long I started sketching and calculating my projects for the trailer. Kathy on the other hand was back to researching our travels for our southern trip in 2015 and she spent most of the day looking at the state of Mississippi.

I phoned the Sleep Disorder Clinic to verify this morning that my family doctor had sent in the referral yesterday. Now the doctor at the clinic has to evaluate whether I need another Sleep-over or he’ll just issue a prescription for a new CPAP machine because mine was so old. The reason I did that is threefold. First is that I have to have the new machine within sixty days or I start paying out of pocket rental on this unit and we try to avoid wasted spending or unnecessary charges. Second in the past my doctor’s office has dragged their feet at getting some referrals out in a timely fashion so if they hadn’t done their job I would have been calling them back today. Lastly we need to have this all settled long before we head south at the end of December.

We had barbecued chicken that I grilled on our Weber Q for lunch with a wonderful Taco Salad to accompany it along with the last of the homemade Apple/Rhubarb pie. We normally grill our meals for supper but since we won’t be in town and the meat was defrosted yesterday for supper that we reslated. Because we didn’t want it to spoil we had it for lunch.

Later this afternoon Kathy had another appointment with her dentist in Amherstburg. After Kathy’s appointment we went to McDonalds where we again enjoyed their Sweet Chili Chicken Wrap for supper. We find their wraps a nicely balanced and healthier choice than always getting burgers. We then went store walking at Walmart and Canadian Tire to use up some time.

We don’t mind the trip out to Amherstburg on Wednesdays because we visit with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa and the grandsons Cameron and Matthew on Wednesday evenings. This is a weekly scheduled visit unless life gets in the way. This week was no different learning what the boys are up to in school and what Kevin and Melissa are doing as well. It never fails that each time we are there even when things get serious there is always laughter we have an enjoyable visit.

We are hoping to hear from Dominion Collision that the truck is ready to be picked up. That will definitely change our schedule around as far as getting the trailer in for its repairs and warranty work. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Will be nice to get your truck and trailer ready to go before the weather gets too cold, good luck.

  2. What great news. We have a friend that also uses the CPAP machine. It has worked wonders. Good luck with your doctor appointment. I hope I will read more good news tomorrow.
